This is the first I have heard about this. Wish I had been there. Ive never been to a convention where there were dissenting voices. Must have been amazing. I love the fact they had attendants guarding the platform lol

Crazyguy, to be faie to Watchtower, they not only show countries with growth, but they also show the ones with no growth, plus the ones with minus growth. 1.2% is hardly real growth its just slightly higher than the world population increase
Kingdom halls are indeed being closed and sold, but they are also building new ones in Africa and South America. Those countries cant afford nice looking Kingdom Halls, so money probably comes from donations from the richer countries where the halls have been sold.
I hate the cult, but just wanted to make those few points.

Hi Punkofnice, Im from the uk as well and there just isnt any increase here. Also if we take Europe as a whiole that too, shows a great big zero. Its no wander when the JWs just sit or stand by their carts chatting to each other, or playing with their phones. Im not knocking it though, I think its great they just do that, means less and less people are entering the cult. -

They are indeed leaving in droves, but only in the high access internet countries. Most increase comes from Africa and some South American countries. Looks like a huge number left this past year, but unfortunately also there was an increase in the baptisms. Thats not really surprising as there has been a big push by the org to get young kids dipped.

HI Comey, The Watchtower report is a year on year comparison, so the small differences in deaths in different countries apply every year, so can be used for comparison purposes. The same is true with baptised and unbaptised publishers, the same thing applies. Its the same rule as previous years. Did you have a look at the figures on JWfacts? Makes interesting reading.

The above 215000 of JW leavers is the highest ever recorded in one year as far as I can see. JWfacts has a section on leavers, both before deaths are taken into consideration and after. So the org certainly have nothing to brag about. Especially when we know there is massive pressure for kids to get baptised. We have read about kids as young as eight getting baptised, which the org brag about. I'm sure at least half of the baptisms will be kids of JWs, rather than people they attract from the local community.

Its quite weird how they have gone from average to peak publishers by country. It made the figures look better the first year but after that it means nothing. Its just presenting a force picture. Average is always going to be more accurate. But the 1.2 % increase in peak publishers is the lowest increase sine 2005 as far as i can see.

Hi Keinlezard, we will know more when the full report is published, but its a fare bet that most baptisms are coming from Africa and South America. I think most on here are from USA or Europe where there is next to no increase in anything. So the figure that matters is not the baptisms but the peak publishers, and that is a very low figure, barely keeping up with the world population increase.

Interestingly an impressive rise of 7% in the baptisms, but actually only a 1.2% rise in peak publishers (was 1.4% last year). So loads of people going out through the back door. Im pretty sure they will soon stop publishing the partakers figure. They have already said its not a true picture of genuine anointed JWs. Thanks listener for finding the report. I imagine the full report will appear soon. Last year it was in the about us section on JW org

The comments are on Facebook so you can translate from there. Most of Europe is showing no increase now, so merging is going to be happening more and more. From a business point of view it makes no sense to use a building just 4 hours a week.
