I found myself in the situation where i was regularly conducting the book study on the Revelation book, and many of the points being made, I simply didnt agree with. It was the start of my fade a short time after.

When You Were A Witness Did You Believe Everything Taught?
by minimus inobviously at some point you stopped believing the witnesses had the truth or else you wouldn’t be here.
.
but for the most part, were you a true believer or were you typically a rebel or a doubter?

What is the JW view on the vaccine rollout?
by MebyonKernow inout of morbid curiosity...what is the jehovah's witnesses current view about the vaccine rollout?is the watchtower society advocating the position to take the covid vaccine?
is it a personal 'conscience' matter?
how many jws are refusing the vaccine does anyone know?
-
alanv
There are many religious people who worry about what is in the vaccine, and if there is anything in it they are not allowed to have. But the vaccine suppliers have been very clear from the start that there is nothing questionable in the vaccine. Governments are encouraging all to have the vaccine, not because of some political agenda, but because the worlds top doctors and scientists tell us how important it is for us all to have it.

For me it was one of the good things to come out of my time as a JW. It helped me stand up in front of an audience and speak confidently in my secular job.

the GB has just cancelled the next two years
by neat blue dog ineven some democrats are advocating for reopening society, and are at least hoping for some point in 2021, but the governing body just announced that they're canceling the assemblies in 2022 as well, aiming to restart in 2023. .
they're really milking this 'pandemic', because as soon as things go back to normal that sense of urgency will start to die again, and publisher counts / meeting attendance will go down as well.
i wonder how many jws are suffering form (additional) depression from this as well, because with meetings, assemblies and conventions at least you could see and meet new people, as well as socialize.

I really cant see them selling off a majority of Kingdom Halls. Its how they make their money, by building a new one with free labour and then selling the old one for full market price.

Wife told me a tale about a letter writing experience and my BS meter was like "uhhh ya rightttttt"
by goingthruthemotions inso me and my pimi wife are driving today and normally we don't talk anything about her stupid cult.
because it will end up with me saying something and her getting p.o'ed.
well anyways i have been trying to just ignore the bs and keep my mouth shut.
-

Its possible its true. There are always odd experiences somewhere in the world or even in your own country. But they are very much the exception rather than the rule, which is why last year the service report showed they had lost more people than they had gained.

Several months ago they announced 7500 JW deaths from covid. I imagine that figure could well be 10,000 now. So they are doing everything they can to keep that figure as low as possible, as it already shows so well that JWs have no protection as an organisation from their god.

U.K. Nurse Vaccinated With Covid Shot Has Covid Weeks After Getting Vac!
by minimus insomeone i know from england is a nurse.
she told me there was an outbreak at the hospital and she got the virus after being vaccinated.
she said she was told it probably would have been much worse for her had she not gotten vaccinated.
-
alanv
The nurse caught the virus 3 weeks after she had her jab. Like the flu you can still catch it, but its in much milder form so very inlikely to be hospitalised or die from it. This seems to have been the case with the nurse. She had a temperature and a persistant cough.

Phone witnessing and the Year Book
by Diogenesister inwhen the “year book” is published online next year, and the number of new baptisms is roughly the same as it always is, how are they going to deny that their new “converts” are nothing more than born-in kids of witnesses or already “captive” family and friends?.
the “billions” of hours of service are at best pointless and ineffective and at worse often fabricated.. what say you?.
-
alanv
I cant see how their hours can go up if they are letter writing. They will have the same text for each letter, so all they have to do is print it, address the envelope, and post it. Takes no time at all. -

What results are the letter writing having?
by purrpurr inmost jws are restricted to letter writing ministry right now.
of course i've heard a load of highly dubious 'encouraging experiences' about it already.. but what i'm wondering is how these letters are actually being received and what effect they are really having?.
i also find it disturbing that jws are being told to put their home address on the letters they send out.
-
alanv
They really shouldnt put their address on a letter, if they dont know the person they have sent the letter to. If they want a reply it would be better to put a phone number, then if there is any problem, you just block that person.
