Considering how many lives it has saved, its good if the organisation highly recommend it. My idiot JW elder son, has been in complete isolation since march 2020 with his wife and my grandson. The boy is 14 months old and has never been in the company of anyone else, including me.

GB 2021 Update #10 - "get vaccinated"
by neat blue dog inam the turd comes the closest to just coming right out and telling jws they have to do it.
he says, 'there's no need to worry, just keep doing what works: wear masks, wash your hands and get vaccinated when possible'.
the busybodies are going to be even more insufferable now than they have been.

Kh sell out and disfellowship
by asp59 inyou think org is gonna start disfellowship elders or dissociate with congregations that don't want too sell there kingdom hall's?
with all the begging of money seems org is lacking funds.
if they are not getting donations, they prepping everyone for the big kh sell out i think.

They no longer own their Kingdom Halls, Watchtower does. And its pretty unlikely that a multi billion dollar org is running out of funds

1975 and so on.
by zachias inyes i was there.. when we were all told.. 1975 is the time.
i was new to the jw thing but i knew then "that no man knoweth the day nor the hour....".. https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5647286362177536/1975-on.

The org say that they never pointed to a literal day or hour which is true. But they certainly said that the great tribulation was imminent and pointed to the mid seventies for that to happen. because of that there was a massive increase in members, followed by a large decrease in numbers when nothing whatsoever happened

I would have thought JWs would have realized after they have lost over 20000 members, that their god has no interest in them at all. Im pretty sure the one thing they would all be saying when they prayed was for their god to protect them and the organisation. In the end JWs death rate is three times the world average.

Do any of you ex JW`s ever feel ashamed or embarrassed to admit you were once a JW? To your now friends / associates ?
by smiddy3 ini ask this now because i have been living in this town for the past 14 years and the circle of friends i have now i have never let on i am an ex jw.. i`m talking about 30-50 people at least.. not that the subject has ever really come up , but i think they would be shocked / amazed that i was a ( i hate this word ) a "devout" jw for 32 years going around knocking on peoples doors trying to convert them to the religion .. yet every now and again i get tempted to.. how say you ?.

I often speak to new friends or relatives about my time as a JW. Its a great way of ensuring that they dont fall into the same trap as I did. Most of them are horrified when I tell them about the dark side of the religion

Is the jab required to attend meetings ?
by zachias inmy wife has begun to attend meetings at the kh.. do the wt ask if attendees have had the jab?
anyone know?.
thanks.
-
alanv
Even if 90% have had the jab, that leaves 1 in 10 that have no protection whatsoever in an indoor environment and no fresh air coming in, particularly during winter months. Seems a recipe for spreading covid I would say

Removing GB arragment.
by asp59 inyou think they abouth to remove gb arragment?

maeby its part of downsize.

The governing body are here to stay Im sure. They love all the attention they get, and JWs completely buy into the arrangement. I think more congregations will share halls even if it means the members have to travel further. But i cant see them ever getting rid of the majority of halls as they are such brilliant cash cows for the org. Why stop building them with free labour, then selling them on in a few years for a huge profit?

To be fair to them, they have for decades shown negative figures in their annual service report. I live in the uk, and there has been almost zero growth for years now. Any growth is often because of born ins, but even that is not high considering that two thirds of them leave the religion once they are adults (pew report)

JWs regularly have get togethers where they enjoy others company just like any non JWs. There are restrictions though. So no drugs, no smoking and drinking alcohol in moderation. Also dressing modestly and non sexual dancing are required.
So for anyone wanting any of those things you could say they are party poopers. Personally I was always quite happy with those conditions, and any non JW parties I go to now, I would prefer those conditions.
