watchtower dress code at elder school knorr style!
today i uploaded a new article to my blog addressing watchtowers dress code for attending and speaking at its elder schools.
those with personal experience at these events should immediately recognize a big difference between then and now.
Marvin you seem to have a real obsession with what the society did in the past. Life and death issues are one thing, but come on, who cares what they wear. In business meetings, some are formal some are not. It really does not matter.
As far as the society goes we need to concerntrate on what they are saying and doing now, not worring about what they used to wear 30 years ago.
did anyone happen to hear this talk?
ours was given by a southern circuit overseer.

I don't know why anyone would be surprised at those words, the society have been saying the same thing for years. They always have been arrogant.
are baptized jehovah's witnesses allowed to go to a catholic priest's funeral?.
would elders allow this?
(without them being reproved)?.
When my brother got married in a Catholic church we went, but made sure we were not part of the service by sitting away from the wedding party.
I think that is where the trouble would come, if you joined in with the service. Just observing is as has been said just a conscience matter.
if you beleive the bible account in genesis when cain killed abel, why didn`t jehovah/yahweh kill cain right then and their.?

apparently cain had no remorse for killing his brother and was only concerned that someone would come after him to avenge abels death,so what does the almighty god jehovah do ?
That 'land of the fugitives' is ridiculous, unless the account means he went to join his mother and father and brother Seth. There was nowon else living apparantly at that time.
one of the most controversial practices of jehovah's witnesses is the operation of judicial committees.
these specially-assigned inquisitory boards are manned by at least 3 elders and interrogate, investigate and finally prosecute a person believed to be guilty of any number of offenses.
these offenses can be anything from heavy drinking, masturbation, swearing to infidelity, apostacy even issues of bloodguilt.
It does not matter how hard the elders pray or how often, the fact remains that they can get it wrong and have done on many occasions.
you know, the thing they were talking about in the 2011 dc.
it was about how the "toes" of daniel's image no longer represent all the individual governments that have come around in human history.
and that the anglo-american world power is the last world power we'll see before the end of the system of things.
What happened to the United Nations being the eighth world power springing from the seventh. Don't they teach that any more.
Certainly calling Britain part of a world power is a joke. We are billions of pounds in debt, and we import much more than we export.
can someone tell the wts/jw's how utterly counter productive & cruel shunning is?.
apart from serious crimes where a person might conscientiously have nothing to do with a friend/relative, people who are struggling with any kind of issues generally need love, support & kindness.. shunning is unnecessary, evil & humiliating.. does the punishment really fit the crime?
someone caves into the 'sins of the flesh' so they are cut off from all human contact with everyone they know?.
They won't get rid of something that works well for them.
In most cases it stops the sheep from mixing with someone who has rejected the org. for whatever reason. Clearly the society do not care two hoots about human rights. The shunning is actually blackmail. They are saying providing you do exactly as we say, you can come back.
Blackmail pure and simple.

i've been riding the momentum wave but now i feel like i'm washed up on the shore.
i let them back in my head.
When they talk about apostates and opposers a person needs to look at what is being said by them and decide if it is the truth or lies.
That is the test. Not just to label someone because they do not agree with you.
When an unbiased person reads what an opposer said, it is likely they will agree with it, as all the opposer did was expose something wrong in the organisation.

does anyone have a pdf version of the unrevised truth book they can share with me?
also i am looking for information about what all was offically said about 1975..
Joe there is a pdf available on line for the truth book, but it is the revised version where they get rid of their mistakes. You may be able to get the original from Amazon or ebay.
As far as 1975 goes, their is a mountain of info available. Just type in Watchtower 1975 and it will keep you occupied for weeks going through all the stuff the society said about it.
