How Many Elders And Ministerial Servants Are There In Your Congregation?
by Village Idiot ini'm curious to see how much manpower a little congregation - a hundred?
- requires to keep it running.

I think its true to say, that if a cong is a bit short of elders or mini servants, they just lower the bar a bit. Its not as if they need to use their brain a lot for the work they do, as the Watchtower lays out exactly what they should do. -

The org has changed massively in the last few years. They have no shame any more. They are desperate for new members and more money so they will do whatever it takes to get that. If going mainstream helps then they will go that way. -

Is Reform inevitable for Watchtower
by Truthexplorer ingiven that it is highly likely that things are going to change in relation to watchtowers policy on safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults in australia (re australian royal commission), and england and wales (re charity commission).
could this be the start to reforming the watchtower organisation.
albeit, they are being forced to change their safeguarding policy by the laws of the land, but it may set a precedent.

Many ex JWs say that the org has already changed beyond recognition. Every day that goes by they become more mainstream. They still have a long way to go, but I think there is no doubt they will have to carry on changing if they want their org to grow any more. -

Another Newbie
by Drifting Away inhello, i have been lurking for a while, but discovered ttatt for about 8 months now.
i am trying to fade out, problem is i have a big family i would lose if i got df'ed or da,'ed myself.
my wife knows how i feel, and is not thrilled but i cant hide my feelings.
-

Certainly agree with fading if at all possible. I have my grown up son in the org and when i learnt TTATT I really went for it with him. The result was that he only speaks to me when he has to. With hindsight I should have taken it much slower with him and just dropped the very occasional comment. So even more so for anyone who has a lot of their family members in the cult. -

Interesting that it seems to say a person can disassociate themselves orally. In other words just tell the elders you no longer wish to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses -

Another JW Literature Trolly Experience
by Athanasius inthis morning i stopped at dollar general to get a cheap container for waste paper.
it was 11:30 am and there were two jw literature trolleys parked near the store and manned by three jws, on old man in a rolling chair, a 30 something man, and 30 something woman.
as i walked by them i glanced at the their literature rack and proceeded into the store.. i was in the store for 20 minutes and made my purchase.

I didn't think the trolley JWs were suppose to talk to the public. Perhaps this guy was the exception.
They will talk to you, but I think they are told not to get into heavy discussions in the streets. Looks bad in front of the public if the public see them arguing with someone.
