If you have all of your ducks in a row and know how to merely ask the right questions at the right time, you could provide them with the mental freedom that you now have. Without arguing, without insulting them, but just by merely asking questions and pointing out facts like you did on their first visit. God bless you either way!

My shunning mother called me....accidently
by restrangled inthis was such a sad exhange and just shows how unnatural this bogus rule by the wbts is.. i see my moms name on the caller id and i immediately pick up.
(keep in mind we live 2 blocks apart).
my mom says julia?, and i say no mom its me, you must have dialed the wrong number.. mom: oh, i'm sorry, how are you?

These things are not accidents. Just goes to show that even the WTS cannot smother true love. Keep loving your Mom and maybe one day she will be free too.

Looks like Lassie in the face. About the size and build of a border collie. Looks a little sway-backed, due to all the puppies she has had. Wish I could post a photo of her, but alas! I am computer ignorant, and really do not know how. (Sorry!)
My son wants to call her Lassie, but that has been done to death in our area and I really would like something a little more unique. I've made up my mind that I'm going to pick a suggestion from THIS forum, however. So keep the ideas coming!
Happy Birthday, Marilyn! :0)
So far I like all the suggestions, except for "Billy". (Sorry, but she is too much of a lady for that one!)

NAME A MISREPRESTED QUOTE IN WT PUBLICATIONS?
by badboy inafter atlantis or avengers thread, can anyone name similiar quotes?
-
whyizit
Don't know if this counts as a mis-quote, but I found it interesting none-the-less.
The New World (1942) pg.323 states that the King of the South is Egypt, while the Daniel's Prophecy book pg.284 says that the King of the South is the QUEEN of Zenobia (Syria). Never mind the change of location---how about that gender bender???!!!
If God is leading the WTS, how could He make such mistakes? It would seem that He would get it right the first time. Unless it really isn't God who is leading the WTS........
Just a thought!

Just adopted a collie mix from the pound. 4 yrs. old and has had about as many litters of puppies, from the looks of her. Very smart and gentle. Overlooked, due to her shyness around all the noise at the pound. Truly wonderful at heart.
Needs a name! Previous owners said she was left there when they moved in and didn't know what her name was.
Thought it might be fun to seek help from the JWD forum! Lots of brilliant minds here, and I figure you might be able to help me come up with a proper and fitting name for a "diamond in the rough".
Any ideas????

A friend of mine was molested as a child. Not by a JW, by the way.
She is a JW wanna-be, studying for several years, but never baptized. I had thought about sending an anonymous mailing with the Silent Lambs web site address to her. If she didn't know anything about them and she accessed the web site, do you think any of it would sink in?
I had asked her several questions about the blood rule of the WTS, to which she had no good answers at all, and she knew it. I noticed that she had another blood brochure, but wasn't as willing to show that one to me. I had previously asked many questions about the "can blood save lives?" publication. This was a different one. I can't remember what it was called. If any of you know, would you pass it on to me? I'd like to get a hold of one. She hid her's under some books when I got there, so I knew she didn't really want to talk about it. Maybe she knew that none of it really makes sense.
Any help you can give is appreciated!

What's the best commercial on TV?

A Dr. Pepper commercial!!!
This girl and guy are on a date and he starts talking about things that absolutely do not interest her, and she is nodding politely and smiling while she hears a cathcy little song in her head; "Ma-na-ma-naaah, ma-na-ma-naaah......"
I think of that commercial so often, especially when I am held hostage by someone who insists on telling me (in great detail) about something that I am clearly not interested in.
Amazingly, I also am more careful to observe others that have that same glazed look in their eyes, when I am yakking about things that don't interest them! Ha!
Great commercial!

by LuciousJ inok, i'm now da'd as many of you already know.
it's so fresh that my stomach turns everytime the subject comes up about religion.

I'm a non-denominational, Bible-believing Christian.
(Jesus was always criticising the "religious" leaders. Anti religion, pro relationship. I follow His lead!) :0)

Great advice about the creepy brother-in-law, Crumpet!
The rest of the advice is terrific too. It puts me more at ease to know what to expect. I guess I need to make sure we don't have holey socks! :)
