Seems like somebody can't distinguish between "change of nature" and "change of mind" :) First learn basic language and idioms then start to read Old Testament :)

Does God make Mistakes or Bad Decisions?
by gumby ingenesis 6:5-7, 8:21. god decides to send a great flood to kill all humans, save noah and his family, because man's heart is evil.
"and god saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.... and the lord said, i will destroy man whom i have created from the face of the earth.".
later, after the flood waters recede, god promises never to do it again because man's heart is evil.

Jehovah, The Imposter God
by THE SHOOTIST inwhat was jehovah thinking when he put that tree in the middle of the garden and the told adam and eve not to eat of its fruit?
the real all-knowing god would never have done such a thing.
didn't he know that making the tree and the fruit would absolutely ruin this perfect man and woman?

The Shootist.
That's your problem... you make question, you answer them by yourself and then get some conlcusion.
Do you know that basic of deduction - that if you have right premises and use right methods you will get ONLY right answers. And in opposition if you have wrong premises or use wrong methods you will get ONLY wrong answers.
In your case it is wrong premises... You compar Christian God with some your own mind construction - god. Get to know God then you will understand why he put the tree.
I can answer... He knew what can happen. BTW nice topic to think about... and if you get conlcusion in 2 minutes, you surely are on wrong way! :)
But I know our time... you need "fast-food" religion, "fast-food" answers to complicated questions. In this case you end up right where you allready are :) -

God Loves without conditions. He is NOT as us. He is holy. He loves men and hates sin what separates us from God. So he came into this world as Jesus Christ... took upon himself our sins and died for us, to cover this gap what separates us from him. Read - 2 Cor 5:18-21. And read WHOLE John's 1st letter. In Christ you see how much God loves us. How unconditionally he loves us... And the most most most important scripture is John 3:16 - this verse alone saved millions! Christ is God's love in Human Flesh. Get to know Christ and you will Know who and what is God who is Love! He is only Beeing in the whole reality and beyoind it who can and does love us unconditionally!

Many Questions
by urstruly inhi i'm new to this forum.
i've looked at other websites to and i see all this about the jw's, now i'm not one, i was raised a jw but made my own decision and my parents respected that.
i've read so many horror stories, but my life wasn't like that at all, as a matter of fact, when they first knocked on our door and my mother accepted a study our life changed for ever, it was for the best in many ways.

My 2 cents... I am not JW and never been and will never bee as far as it depends on me. But I have relatives involved ij JW and study WT teachings. I am christian and believe in Lord Jesus Christ, but as people allready sayed... you don't need to agree to everybodys point of view, and whenever I do not agree or anybody else does not agrees we still can be friends... that is what so cool about this site and similar. I can hang out with atheist and we may be do not have agreement about God or some religion stuff, but we still can have beer togeather, we can build a house togeather, we can help somebody sick out there, we can give food to somebody in hunger, we can still be loyal to our country who protects us, we can still do our job and enjoy gifts life brings... I am not bound to hate somebody who does not hates me. And even more... I am not boud to hate anybody atall.. If I hate somebody it is ON ME, I am hurting myself not somebody else and there is consequencies even in atheistic world for hatered and non-love!

How responsible is Jesus' advice at Matthew 19:12?
by scout575 inmatthew 19:12 says: " for their are some eunuchs which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and their are some eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom heaven's sake.
he that can make room for it, let him receive it.
" whilst these words of jesus have been taken figuratively by most christians, many, particularly in the past, have taken them all too literally and castrated themselves, thinking they were following jesus' advice.

One verse before Christ says:
Matt 19:11Jesus replied, "Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given.
See... first comes God's own act - giving some understanding not otherwise. People often think that if they do soemthing, then God is bound to put them directly in Heaven! -

607BCE or 587/586BCE explained
by truth about the last days inhello all to all my brothers of the faith.
i have some information in relation to the dates 607bce and 587/586bce, with the simple explanation of the 70years exile.
the wt still sticks with the 607bce due to the fact that the governing bodys explains that the jews returned back at about 537bce, assuming that they were finished with their bondage.

PMJ in your post there is one slight but very important detail which "slips" between fingers even for trained non JW student. Your post starts with...
The beginning of the "Times of the Gentiles" is thus seen to occur at the point of Zedekiah’s overthrow, which is also linked with the destruction of Jerusalem that followed immediately thereafter.
WHY??? Where do you get this from Bible? This is PURE WT invention. But most interesting is... that this is everydays method how WT acts... First comes some non obvious clame, then cames some obvious proof of SOMETHING ELSE and then some "between fingers" conclusion from this proof to proof of first claim. And there you get your "proof".
But when you are honest in logic and break down the claims you get something like
Lions live in Norhen Pole. We can see by provided pictures that there are bears in Northen Pole, and here in this picture you see that Bears and Lions live in similar environment SO... there SHOULD be Lions in northen pole, and scientists who claims oposite are Satans misguided poore people.
Check yourself...
And ONLY scripture which "links" destruction of Jerusalem with 70 years captivity is Daniel. BUT
1) Daniel is apocaliptical literature... so therms, language used should be observed if they really mean the same what it says. To try explain clean Bible claims by Apocaliptical literature claims is plain stupidity, as the operation should be right opposite - explaining Apocaliptical books (Daniel and Revelation) BY other scriptures not otherwise.
2) Daniel refers to Jeremia who claims that 70 years will be over whole land AND nations NOT Jerusalem as City
3) Daniel and not only (Isaiah too) uses Jerusalem to picture ISRAEL as nation!
So... question... where do you get that BEGINING of 70 years is fall of Jerusalem City when Bible says that the BEGINING of 70 years is begining of Nebukanezzar reign! And Jerusalem falls on his 19th year, and Daniel himself was taken into captivity on the 1st Year of Nebukanezzar - so captivity and Independence of Judea ALLREADY was lost -19/20 years before Jerusalem fall. -

Would Jehovah create something He could not control or convince?
by DavidChristopher in.
any thoughts on this?
would he create us without the knowledge of how to convince us his will and commands are for our best interest?

response is love... love without freedom is not love. so God created his beeings free because of love. if creation using it's freedom rejects love, so rejects God they doom themselves to ethernal non-love

Biblical beliefs that are similar to older pagan beliefs
by M.J. ini'd like to list some beliefs within judaism and christianity that bear a resemblance to older pagan beliefs.
the wts is deceptive when they selectively point out such parallels, but only with respect to beliefs they reject.. for example, the wts argues that the origin of the concept of the immortal soul is in egyptian and babylonian mythology, both of which espoused such a concept.
but they neglect to also point out that babylonians wrote flood accounts similar to the noah story before the writing of genesis, or that baptism was practiced in pagan religions before the birth of christ.

Common it is so eazy to explain. Memories about Noa and preflood times were preserved in one or another way. But looking into pagan you can see how sin clauded real events and "decorated" them with miseteries, myths, legends nice or horrible details (depend on which side you are) and so on. Sacrifice is degenerated in pagan and so on. Pagans has menu degenerated piesces of truth, that's why it seems like Christianity borrowed things from pagans. In reality Christianity is purification and cleansing of the myths and rejecting human inventions. That's why you can see the things in pagan, coz you have information about God preserved in his Word. That's why we have Isrealities so different from pagan, coz they actually were "arc" of God's Word till Christ came, in whom whole truth is revealed fully. Not EVERYTHING pagan is false. I assume that even 90% of pagan stuff is just sin-degenerated truth. Otherwise every single piesce of Christianity can be tracked "back" to pagan origin.

Books and letters that are not part of the Bible
by sinis inbeen reading the apocraphyls (sp?
) as well as a book that contains books and letters that were not included in the bible.
the whole thing is very interesting.

This is common mistake, thinking that church invented canon. But in reality church discovered the canon, not invented. Inventions came later, when church itself get poisoned by sin. And be carefull about apocrifa, it is allways interesting to find out why particular book is not included in canon. This is pretty amazing and interesting research!

Why didn't Jesus Outdo Greek Scientist?
by Spectrum inif i wanted to prove to a bunch of tribal ignoramuses that i'm the big boss i'd show them a few scientific tricks that would have dazzled them.
like electricity, how the brain really works, higher mathematics, tell them how a star is formed since he created them, set up a fusion reactor for eternal energy source.
he walked on water, see that might impress the odd shepherd or two back then but it leaves nothing for us to go on today as we can just reject it out of hand as a myth.

Yea... everybody here expects that Jesus would show something what prooves his Divinity. How about ressurection? :) You don't believe... that's coz you still are
a bunch of tribal ignoramuses
