last night i was reading a book and i came across an illustration that fits this circumstance well.

a young boy at sunday school learns the story of david and goliath.

at home that afternoon the boy comes to his mother and says "i'm as big as goliath".

i stumbled on this site dong some research, i post now only for those you have not sinned against jehovah's holy spirit, since only jehovah knows this, some value might be taken form this.

i currently serve as the service overseer in my congregation, i have been an elder for over 10 years.. the fundmental issue that challanges every jw faith at some point are the imperfections of the wtbs, & those that take the lead sometimes make huge errors.

as a third generation jw with a huge network of elders, i have heard many bad things about those that take the lead.. some of these have effected myself and my family, this is the test, no different than what job faced, but it is more on the emotional and mental level.

Okey. And now question! Should I allways listen to WT? Or if I read in God's Word that I have to come TO Jesus Christ, then I can come to Jesus and have relation with him, to get him know me and get me know him. As knowing Father AND Son is ethernal life. And there is only one who reveals Father to us - Jesus Christ. When I hear Jesus Christ I hear God, when I see Jesus Christ I see God (John 14) when I talk to Jesus I talk to God :)
Or in THIS case WT still can be wrong and I have to follow WT not Bible? BTW Which Bible is the right one? Haven't WT made mistakes in translating Bible? Meny Meny Meny scholars have pointed that NWT is bad "translation". So is WT ready to admit their errors, or they admit errors only in minor issues, not major?

but peter said , ananias, why hast satan filled thine heart to lie to the holy ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the field?

scout: And again... you didn't noticed my "sometimes". It is not "allways". If it would be allways (btw this is common mistake for new pastors) then you would be true. But when you read Bible then you find out WHY God sometimes allows this to happen (he punishies bad people using other bad people) but at the end of day there is "I will forgive them all their sins and do not remind them". Gospel is the key message which saves you when you are faced with your greatest fear and reality - hell. Hell is where nobody wants ot spend ethernity, and still God shows that it is reality if you do not hold unto Jesus Christ.

Dunno but in our church sometimes you hear this and other scriptures you label as "you not hear" :) Our pastor does not leav "law which kills" part out of Bible.

Studying with JWs

i have just started studying with jws, (on a regular basis) about a month ago, and i really enjoy it.

- i am wondering what will happen in the next couple of months, knowing i will continue going to the kingdom hall and studying.

will i go door to door sometime?

And test this... are you studing Bible (reading through gospels, new testament) or you are "talking about topics" in different WT magazines and use Bible as Reference book, to "proove" that what JW says is true.
If it is second case, then you are not studing Bible but Literature, do not let yourself to be decieved. And even when they show you some scripture READ whole context - better whole chapter if that is what Bible is talking about. Coz there are even words in Bible "There is no God". Check WHOLE context. And better way to study Bible is actually READ it through. Start with gospel of John. Coz John itself says that his gospel alone is sufficient to get faith and ethernal life (John 20:31). So it is the best start of Bible. Or Gospel of Luke. Both these gospels should be on the top of your study. But check if you actually study Bible, or you study WT doctrine!

NWT 2 Corinthians 5:20

in 2 corinthians 5:20 the nwt says, "we are therefore ambassadors substituting for christ, as though god were making entreaty through us.

as substitutes for christ we beg: "become reconciled to god.".

i could not locate any other bible translations that have the word "substituting" in the text.

Good that Christians don't need mediators between themselves and Christ. They can come to Christ directly without ambassadors :) And Christ promissed to be with us till end of ages. Better to be with relationship with the King directly atleast you have guarantee that he knows you and you know him.

Persecution of JWs in Uzbekistan

for some time now, reports of persecution of jehovah's witnesses in uzbekistan has been reported on the internet.. what it the wtbts doing to protect its members in uzbekistan, if anything?

JW's are not the only persecuted there... I guess all cults/sects/religions get their asses beaten by Uzbekistan regime

Newbie question; Why do JW hypocrites PROVE that they're a cult?

hello, i discovered this site yesterday and have been on it for hours!

i've been studying with jehovah's witnesses for 4 years and quite frankly love it.

a bit of background, i am a college educated young man (have a bs in psychology) and am currently a medical student.

Hey hello and welcome. If you are walking around telling ppl "good news" then I guess you are telling them gospel as Paul did in 1 Cor 15:1-5, coz if you are telling something else, then read Gal 1 But I guess as you are God's servant you are doing just like Paul did - preaching Jesus, coz we don't have any other Name given in which we have salvation (Acts 4:12) and coz Jesus gained name above all the names (Phil 2:9) and coz Jesus is sitting higher than any Name pronounced in this time or following (Eph 1:21)? It is written ""This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." (Luk 24:46-47)
So are these the good news you preach? Or do you preach something else (read Gal 1)

the apostle paul told the christians in the ancient city of philippi: "this is what i continue praying, that your love may abound yet more and more with accurate knowledge and full discernment.

philippians 1:9

similarly, accurate knowledge is needed for you to be motivated to believe in god.

And who would speak about "correct knowledge" if they over 100 years can't get anything correct. All the time they need "new light" to get something different (not correct). Even wont speak about getting correct dates from historical events. It is eazy to blame Satan, rather then to learn something. First does not requires correct knowledge :)
