Thanks dude, for going-after "e-watchman." I wish I had the time, I?d go after him too! You did a superb review of his so-called "wisdom!" Thank you for confronting this dope! I?ve wanted to do likewise for some time!

unbuttoning the watchman
by czarofmischief inin my current campaign against "e-watchman" i am going to copy tactics i learned from my favorite watchtower studies - posted weekly by blondie.
my urge to do this is caused by what i view as a real danger to those who are escaping the intense mind control of the borg.
e-watchman uses guilt and condemnatory statements in a big way, which could strike those who are feeling guilty about leaving the watchtower anyway.

Elders Threaten To Tow Elderly Sister's Car For Parking In Handicapped Area
by minimus inmy mother told me that an 81 year old sister was told that if she was not legally handicapped and had the plate to prove it----the police could come into the parking lot and have her car towed!
when she mentioned that there are more spaces available and not used and that she regularly transports another handicapped person that does not drive, they reiterated the same comments about it being against the law to park her car there and that she could get fined , ticketed and towed......so, she stayed home the next meeting.
now, she's going to ask her "unbelieving, worldy" husband who is also in his 80's if he'd be willing to give her and her friend a ride, especially as the weather will get worse and her eyes are not very good to begin with.......interesting, huh?

Older ones here, what do you remember being told about 1975 ???
by run dont walk in.
i was just a little kid when the 1975 thing came about, didn't pay much attention to it, after it was over, my parents told me it was just some people being over anxious, and being about 8 at the time i believed it, now when you research you find some amazing articles.
what do you remember being told about 1975 as the year got closer ?

Oh yea! I remember 1975. I was a teenager just before that "important" date! The coming event/1975 was one of the reasons I got baptized, just before, at 16. I truly believed the "end" would come before or at that time!
I recall a blitz of pamphlets we had to place in the proceeding years. We had to deliver these within a 3-week period (if I recall correctly)! Each publisher was handed about 300 pamphlets, from what I remember. I recall having to work overtime to deliver these, because many couldn?t cover the "territory" in time, I was given and extra portion. I remember running behind houses in the cold-rain (Rochester, New York), during the winter months! Boy, I thought I was doing God?s will! "These people got to get the message," so I thought! "The end is here! The end is here!" so I thought!
I remember the tracts at that time, several having lighting bolts striking the major buildings of world governments (sort-of a 9-11 picture), with Satan behind all governments (isn't that what radical Islamists say?). I suppose this wouldn?t go over very well now, hehe!

1st Year Anniversary
by Robotnomore inhey everybody, we made it!!
it's been one heck of a year, but we got thru it and things are getting better.
i guess its true, time heals all wounds.

Congratulations "Robbotnomore!" Wish you folks the best! However, don?t be in a hurry to join another "church!" It?s just my opinion, for whatever it is worth, that "ALL RELIGION is a snare and a racket" (Rutherford?s words, not mine). If you can get together with real friends and study the Bible, I?m for that. But as for "big-business religion," I?m aiming for the barf-bag! Hope you folks do the same!
Anyway, wish you folks the best. Enjoy your Christian Freedom!

I'm just waiting for the BIG SEARCH OF BROOKLYN BETHEL, to access all the JW-pedophile records! Don?t you folks wish the same?
I can see it now! Ten FBI-cars surround Brooklyn Bethel, remove all the JW-pedophile records, and handcuff the GB, then cart them off to "neverland!" This is what would make my day! Don't you agree?

Did a 'major-event' cause you to join/leave JW?s?
by cyberguy init seems to me, many people become jw?s after a major event in their lives.
perhaps it is the death of a loved-one, such as a father, mother, child, wife, or husband.
on the other hand, it?s also my observation that a "major-event" often causes an active jw to rethink what they are doing with their life, whether they are really in the "truth," as jw?s call it.

The reason I?m asking this is because of several, recent, threads suggest other reasons why JW?s leave. This is not to say there are not other underlying reasons people join/leave, but it?s my theory that JW?s join/ leave, primarily after a "major-event," a "trigger" that causes them to rethink what they are doing with their lives.
I welcome your own expressions/experiences, please express yourselves.
Thanks,

THEY'VE DONE IT!!!! The WBTS set a new date!
by dmouse inthe latest watchtower, dec 15th 2003, is an out and out attack on the rank and file for dropping into a drowsy state spiritually.
ok, so armageddon didn't come before the generation of 1914 grew old and died.
but does that mean that the big a isn't near?

There?s nothing new in the Watchtower?s trickery of prophetic dates! If you reexamine the 1975 fiasco, they never directly stated the "end" would definitely come by that date. But similar to the new prophetic "time-buoy," they strongly implied it (i.e. the "end" would come by 1975)! To me, this new date is just a continuation of the "generation" change, made to deceive and continue the lie of a "paradise-in-your-lifetime and hope of never-dying" malarkey! Its purpose is to keep JW?s selling worthless magazines and books, which promote a "Good-News" other than the "Good-News" contained in the Bible (compare Gal. 1).
As "tonyend" has stated: "The persons at the top, whose only livelihood is the WTBTS, are merely concerned (at a subconscious level I think) with their jobs [spelling errors corrected]." IMHO, I believe this may be a primary factor in this "new light!"
