You can always think about an alternate name. How about "AboutJwQuotes.com?" Anyway, it doesn?t really matter, does it? since you can submit such a site to Google, et., al.! Just my 2-cents. Wish you the best! Love your site!

For those with severe depression, with a potential of suiside! PLEASE! PLEASE, PLEASE! RECONSIDER!
I did a recent post and didn?t catch, until recently, a person who posted, that apparently, has suicidal tendencies! My mistake, regrettably! However, for those with severe mental depression and not knowing a way out, PLEASE post to this board and let us know about it! Maybe we can help, maybe we can?t! However, if you ?re severely depressed, please get help! PLEASE call a health professional! If nothing else, PLEASE try expressing yourself here! Let us know that you?re really struggling!
However, since most of us are not medical professionals, we may not be able to provide sufficient help for you at this time. However, we?d be glad to assist where we can, and/or get professional help for you, if you want!
If any of you fine folks on this board are willing to help in this regard, PLEASE say so here, and let anyone who visits here, know that help is just around-the-corner! You have "real" friends here and "we" want to help!
Best regards,
Cyberguy

Did a 'major-event' cause you to join/leave JW?s?
by cyberguy init seems to me, many people become jw?s after a major event in their lives.
perhaps it is the death of a loved-one, such as a father, mother, child, wife, or husband.
on the other hand, it?s also my observation that a "major-event" often causes an active jw to rethink what they are doing with their life, whether they are really in the "truth," as jw?s call it.

Oraacroth ? PLEASE don?t even consider yourself "insane" and wanting to "kill" yourself! If you think about it long enough, there?s people that love you and would truly miss you if you did something as serious as you are suggesting! A lot of people on this board are struggling! Ok, MOST on this board are struggling! They?re trying to determine if God exists and what the future will be! "Is there life after death?" Anyway, YOU?RE NOT ALONE! PLEASE VISIT WITH US OFTEN! Don?t get too discouraged if you can help it! Thank you for you self-evaluation on this subject and your post! Take care!
Cyberguy! (send me an email anytime -- worried about you!)

disassociated without baptism
by detective ini believe there was a topic about disfellowshipping an unbaptized person awhile back but i can't remember enough of the details to find it.. i was speaking with a friend yesterday who was disassociated as a young teenager, complete with a reading to the congregation and shunning, despite the fact that this person was never baptized.. (i tipped my hand a bit by blurting out that they aren't supposed to be able to do that if you aren't baptized.
way to go, smartie!
nice way to play it cool with how much research this non-jw has done, but that's beside the point.).

Yea "detective," they use to "disassociate" ones that had been associated with the Witnesses, but not baptized. Actually, they only did this with ones reporting "field service," from what I remember. "That" classified a person as a "brother!" However, what was strange was that if you were a baptized person, you could "disassociate" yourself, and not be treated as a disfellowshipped person! Now, I?m talking about the late 1960?s and early 1970?s! You would be treated as a "worldly person," BUT NOT SHUNNED! This is one of the reasons I got baptized in 1973! I believed that if I changed my mind, I wouldn?t be shunned, but just treated like a non-JW-believer! WELL, ALL THAT HAS CHANGED hasn?t it?

How do the 144,000 know who they are? Have any ever left?
by somebodylovesme inhow do witnesses know if they are one of the 144,000?
my husband, who was a witness for 20 years, couldn't really answer this one beyond "they just know".
how do those "lucky" 144,000 witnesses know who they are?

How do they know? The Society is not that specific, other than to say in some older publications that when such ones read the Bible, especially the Christian Greek Scriptures (JW-talk for the New Testament) they view it as a private "letter" from a father to a son/daughter. Here?s the problem, right off the bat! Shouldn?t all Christians have such feelings? Of course, the hope is no longer extended to anyone anyone, because Watchtower says that the literal number of 144,000 (their concept) was filled by 1935 or so (see my previous post about this issue), and therefore, any "replacements" would have to come from those "high-up" in the organization. Well, isn?t very convenient?

All the stuff in Revelation is "symbolic!" I recall a "class" I had in Bethel, I guess around 1978, for new Bethelites. Anyway, Schroder (on the GB) led the discussion and opened the class to questions. One of the questions was, "how do we know that the 144,000" are a literal number?" Well, the answer he gave still haunts me today, since he never really answered the question, but gave-out a bunch of rhetoric from old Watchtowers! This got me thinking (which most JW?s are no longer able to do), "might the 144,000 be a symbolic number?" Anyway, most everything in Revelation is symbolic, so why not the 144,000? Take a good look at what the Bible actually says.
FACTS:
Israel ? Symbolic!
12 Tribes ? Symbolic!
12,000 in each tribe ? Symbolic!
The names of the tribes ? Symbolic!
The location of the 12 tribes ? Symbolic!
Somehow, when Watchtower adds-up the 12 symbolic tribes of 12,000 symbolic members, it becomes literal! Is this wacky or what?
