  We've coresponded a bit during our time here and I plan on keeping in touch. I may not join another forum, but I will be sure to send an email every now and then. I also have your number for when I visit chicago.

  this may not be my last post on jwd but i feel the time has come for some kind of "goodbye thread" nonetheless.. i first ventured on (french-speaking) xjw forums in 2003, when my own jw past was already old history and practically meaningless to any of my acquaintances in so-called "real life".

  looking back, beyond mere curiosity i certainly felt the need to revisit this almost-forgotten chapter of my life story.

  what especially drew me to jwd and made me stick to it for the past five years was undoubtedly the extraordinary diversity of this board, and the wealth of experience, information and reflection it offered.

  also, many jwd friends are already there.....so that sounds good to me.

  I have to agree. As an example, I also belong to a motorcycle forum. I often find myself comparing that forum to JWD even though it has nothing to do with jw'ism. I really like that JWD keeps all active topics 'bumped to the top' based on the most recent postings. I enjoy the color background of jwd as it is easy on my eyes for reading. The member directory and the search function work quite well compared to the motorcycle forum I belong to.

  Overall, I enjoy how this forum is set up and managed and that is something I will miss along with the community that has developed here.

  i have started to read about cults with the book by steve hassan.

  i look over my shoulder at the library, no way in the world i will check it out or buy it and take it home.
