i have a few questions regarding moving and changing congs.
i would love to hear from former elders.. .
my wife and i will be moving soon, and as i described in an earlier post we will be using the move as an opportunity to fade.
Would they send the cards back to "old" congregation after a while?
It happened at least twice to me. The new congregation sent the cards back to the old after I was 'missing' for a month or so. That's why I currently do not know where my cards are. I'm guessing they're 2000 miles away at the congregation I was raised in.

Personally, I wouldn't even bother. Just move and leave the cards where they are.
I don't even know where my cards are. They might be 2000 miles away from the state I was born in, or they might be 40 miles away at the last congregation I attended. I really don't know, nor do I care.
If you're going to try, then I agree with the above poster that suggested you transfer to an additional congregation after you move to the first congregation in "Chicago". In the past, I had moved to a new congregation that received my cards and when I wasn't there for a month they sent the cards back to the original congregations without my permission. I'm guessing they were just trying to makes their publisher count look better and not have to worry about tracking me down. That could happen to you after you stop going, they just might send the cards back to where you originally came from and you'd be back to square one.
it appears to me that even in the few months that i have been here there is less and less emphasis on jehovah's witnesses and anything remotely related to jws and more very poor posts about politics, foreign affairs and celebrities.
i can't omit the juvenile sex ones, which i find lacking in erotic nature.
it seems the 6th grade boys are meeting in the locker room.. the posts that involve jws have a very different tone from the drivel posted on others.

The announcement is the same for both disfellowshipping and disassociation. The end result is the same for both. You'll be shunned immediately.

i have been studying with the jw's for over a year now, and attended 2 memorials and the district/assembly conventions.
at first, and up until very recently i truly believed what i was learning was the truth.
I do feel like I wasted their time,
Maybe your time with them prevented someone else from being recruited.
Don't worry about their feelings. They don't worry about the feelings of their close family and friends whom they shun after exiting the cult.

It was interesting when I met her family, since none of them shunned me, unlike Australian relatives.
It's true. My wife is originally from the Philippines. They do not practive shunning as it is required by the WT. The Filipinos will refrain from talking about spiritual matters with an individual that is df'd, but they will not shun.
most people really don't want to think about it....but if you could choose, how would like to leave the planet?.
