  That's why I never bought into the jw concept of godly sponsored worldwide genocide.

  If I were a father I could never do something so hateful as killing my children for the crime of disobedience. Never!

  Convention Report - Deliverance At Hand?

  so i just got back from the convention - yes, feel pity on me... i had to attend all three days, spend money on a crappy hotel, sleep in a crappy town, sit on my ass for 8 hours a day, and all just to hear about the same old crap you can read in any watchtower.

  i didn't take notes because not only would my head have exploded from the sheer boredom and stupidity, but i would be responsible for all your heads exploding as well.

  are there any highlights?

  Anyone remember the drama where Jezebel got 'thrown' out the window or some such?

  I might have been quite young, but I sure do remember that one. Was it in the mid 80s?

  I don't recall if I went last year to the DC or in 2004, but the last DC drama had the posessed woman walking across the stage with her arms 'straight out' like that of a zombie.

  Then she's starts speaking in her demonic voice. Trust me,, it was very creepy.

  The part that really pissed me off is they had a scene where someone was being whipped and afterwards he had a shirt on with cuts and red marks all over to indicate blood.

  My sister's child was sitting near me and asked me,, Is he really bleeding? Is he dead? Come on! was that type of 'bloody' scene necessary?

  I'm rambling now, but yeah, those dramas are such a waste of my time. Not looking forward to this year as I'll be visiting my family and attending theirs.

  JWs Called at my House This Morning

  here it was memorial day morning, and i'm out in the front yard watering the gardens when i hear a car pulling up the driveway.

  it pulls into our section of the drive and i see it's a witness couple i know in the front seat.

  the wife is driving and they spot me right off.

  That's right, I forgot. In the 'leaving the truth handbook' it's a requirement to become complete losers in life and have no hope thereby resorting to

  dropping into the fetal position and sucking our thumbs.

  It's true though,, j-dubs are puzzled when we don't drop dead or worse yet,, we become happy and successful after leaving! the horror!!!

  That exactly what driving in the philippines is like. The first time I drove there I was a bit nervous.

  I definitely suspect it's somewhere in asia,, and it could even be the philippines or any similiar 3rd world country.

  Are JWs Discouraged From Seeing The Da Vinci Code?

  Yes, that is true, but what really surprised me is that when I visited southeast asia, I found that one of the local bible study groups within the congregation typically

  rented a movie on dvd once every couple weeks so that they could watch it as a group, sometimes even after their bookstudy. (Keep in mind this is a poor country

  and these movie nights are something they can't afford individually.) Anways, what surprised me is that the movies they watched were typically R-rated american movies.

  I mentioned this to one of the dubs and the response was that the local brothers were fine with it.

  The bomb scare - Convention

  one of the worst things that a lot of people are scared of, is terrorism.

  its an invisible enemy, to be honest i've stopped watching the news since it just got me down.. at a convention at the manchester evening news arena (used to be nynex arena) in manchester, there was a briefcase found.

  no one claimed it and in the end it was thought to be a possible bomb.

  That's a funny experience. I do agree, witnesses expect doom and gloom for those that leave the 'spiritual paradise' and are very confused when the success and

  happiness level increases upon release from their spiritual bondage.

  I also saw a group of witnesses this morning. I drove past the local laundromat and saw about 10 spanish j-dubs in the parking lot talking with eachother.

  Well, in actuality there was one brother that was doing all the talking. It almost seemed like they had met at that location to start their preaching work. Or maybe they were splitting

  up there and hitting all the local businesses? But there was no doubt that he was leading that group and they were being sheeplike and following his orders. No doubt in my mind

  that they were j-dubs as I saw the NWT bibles and literature in hand or under their arms. The kingdom hall is merely a few blocks from where I saw the group, so I drove back and

  only saw one car parked in the lot. Yet I saw many from this group at the laundromat retreat back to multiple cars. Oh wait! I just figured it out! there's a coffee/donut shop on the

  the same block as this laundromat. They all met there to preach at the laundromat for 2 minutes then take their 30-60 minute coffee break.

  I agree,, the preaching work was quite embarassing and yes,, very rude and unproductive as it only disrupts people in the privacy of their homes.
