thank you everyone... sincerely... I wish I could give you all a big hug.... AlanF just called me one the phone, he's a top-notch friend. I'm quite depressed and the pain makes me want to snuff it. I hope I'll be back soon. It's nice to know people I've never met care.

At least noone else was injured, but now I'm carless, penniless, injured in many ways, probably homeless soon. Life has really sucked the last 6 months. At least I'm not a poor New Orleans dude who had no insurance and lost everything. At least. I'll be back some day when I get my life straightened out.

All of my mom's kids (read: my siblings) are long out of school... so yesterday was her vacation day from work. What did she do? Spent 5 hours at my house cleaning, cutting my grass, sitting and talking with me. Yes, she's a JW and I'm DF'd. Thank you so much Mom, I love you!

Personal Hardships and Personal Responsibility
by Eyebrow2 inhey there.....i was thinking about this after reading through a few earlier threads discussing about the hurricane (this is not a thread about that by the way) which lead to people bring up personal hardships.
etc.. i too have had my share, but there is always some one that has had a rougher time than i have.
as a jw, i found that many of the hardships that occured to me as an adult was sometimes the result of poor decisions that i had made...but didn't realize that until after having a breakdown, and getting out of the kh (please note: i don't blame the breakdown on being a jw...just so you know).

Billygoat is great, always thought so, even if she only has moderate affection for me.
I've had a lot of bad shit happen to me healthwise, serious shit, that wasn't my fault at all. I've also made my share of mistakes decisionwise, so I do the best I can to correct them. Isn't that what we oughta do? People that don't, I have little use for, unless they're incapable of taking responsibility and making things right.

Since I live in Buffalo, SU (Syracuse) was moderately popular. 1987 was a huge letdown (SEIKLEY THERE 5 SECONDS LEFT, DO SOMETHING). The latest hoops win was nice but we'd prefer if one of our 4 local D-1 teams makes it to the big dance.

Faking time cards
by mkr32208 ini wonder if those of us who have simply faded started sending in time cards that we just made up.
you know massive placements hundreds of return visits if they would count them or just toss them out?
also how hard would it be to set up a ficticius congregation with all of us as members?

Study in the Creator book.
by Daunt inafter my whole little ordeal with my parent's hearing about how i am atheist and the truth about how i feel about the truth, my dad suggested that we study later on the creator book ("is there a creator who cares about you?
") he has told me a few times that if i have any objections to it i can freely point them out.
well, at first i saw this to be the opportunity to do research, back track the numerable names that they drop in this book, and show the logical fallacies used to support the prevailing theme of intelligent design in the book.

You won't find much intellecutal honesty in WT literature. At least doctine-wise. Go to the library, spend some time, look stuff up. The time will fly by and will be worth it and "pride" is not a baaaaaaaaaaaad thing.

I have a just-turned 19 year old working in my family's business, for 3 years now. Tough, dedicated, loyal, hard-working, does whatever aked of him. I wouldn't trade him for anyone. He's the exception. When I was 18 I worked my ass off to be independent. It seems something happened to most of the kids 3-4 years younger than me (Im 33) and most 18 year olds think they have 18 more years to grow up. Or maybe I'm getting old.

Much ado about nothing was made when the GB "stepped down as officers of the corporation(s)." Too much work for them I guess. Some of the elderly ones likely put in 3-4 hours or real "work" dailey aside from the Wednesday meetings.
