Thanks everybody. I am okay, and here in Buffalo the snow will be flying soon anyway so the bike is put away. So I'm stuck at home with no method of tranportation. Guess I'll have to figure out the bus routes. The hospital did x-rays and found no major damage so I am ok, just bruised and beaten up. AA's (Dave's) post was to say I was ok, I called him last night and asked him to post for me. Again, thank you all. It's been a rough year for ol' Cyg.

Holy Crap! Star Trek's Sulu is gay!
by Elsewhere inlooks like lots of people are "coming out" right now.... http://www.cnn.com/2005/showbiz/tv/10/28/people.georgetakei.ap/index.htmlgeorge takei, 'trek's' sulu: i'm gay.
los angeles, california (ap) -- george takei, who as "star trek's" sulu was part of the starship enterprise crew through three television seasons and six movies, has come out as a homosexual in the current issue of frontiers, a biweekly los angeles magazine covering the gay and lesbian community.. takei told the associated press on thursday that his new onstage role as psychologist martin dysart in "equus," helped inspire him to publicly discuss his sexuality.. takei described the character as a "very contained but turbulently frustrated man.
" the play opened wednesday at the david henry hwang theater in los angeles, the same day that frontiers magazine featured a story on takei's coming out.. the current social and political climate also motivated takei's disclosure, he said.. "the world has changed from when i was a young teen feeling ashamed for being gay," he said.

i love gay people... they are quick to compliment, gratious, generous, polite... i wish we could get over the shock of someone declaring they are homosexual and welcome their honesty and freedom

i wonder how much fun howard stern will get out of this, as he's implied takei's gayness for a long time

586 607 Jerusalem destroyed.
by PoppyR inhi guys, new!
and i'm sure this has been covered, but i find the site has no search for me to look, so sorry if you've discussed it to death.
for the first time last night i came across information about 586 being the actual year jerusalem was destroyed.

Consider Jesus' audience. Was he really speaking about events 1900 years in the future? As Gary mentioned, numerology is rampant amongst Adventist groups, and now even the WT is backing slightly away fro its chronology and saying 1914 began the "composite sign." It's all utter hogwash.

Feeling a little low again
by Cygnus inlots of ups and downs in my life......... and when my mom helps me with things i can't do on my own, even though i'm assured it's not simple charity but done out of love, i feel guilty.
i was self-sufficient from age 16. now i am nearing 34 and can barely do anything without assistance.
it's very difficult losing everything (money, car, job, use of limbs, fiance, etc) in the span of less than a year.

I'm bringing this back to the top because I am still WAY depressed and sick. People elsewhere must be having a field day because I am getting reminders in my email that posts are being made about me. I really don't care. I just need 12 months or so to get back on shape. Thank you guys for all your kind words. :)

Rex, I think it's cool to have faith, but admit it man, faith is all you got. Jesus, Allah, whoever isn't going to save anybody and we're all going to die and be reassimilated into the building blocks of the universe. The sooner you realize that the better, my friend.

Franz' statement is outrageously unreasonable!
by Schizm ineternal life on earth?
god told the first human couple their destiny if they disobeyed.
he did not discuss their eternal future if they obeyed.

Thank god for my doctors and my friends, but these days I'm sleeping 17-20 hours a day. I miss being REALLY active on JWD and elsewhere. AlanF, AA, Joelbear, gumby, so many of you, I think of you often even if I'm not posting. In fact I think about mostly all of you. OK that's it for my weekly "poor poor me" sob story. Thanks for reading and being there guys, even if I don't post I read here every day. :)
