meetings are dragging me down.

it sucks because i still live at home and have no choice but it has gotten to the point where i have left early at times just because i cannot stand to hear all the b.s from the platform.

how do i just keep doing what i have to do till i know i can leave?

Why does God do that? I mean, you think its true he won't give you more than you can bear?

The standard JW/Jesuit answer is that God only gives those who are strong enough the burdens to bear. Which is a load of horsehockey.

Joseph Campbell is good reading, but maybe not quite suited for stilla. I'd recommend "The Meaning of Anxiety" by Rollo May, and "The Christian Agnostic" by Leslie Weatherhead for starters. This is a dangerous time for you, stilla. You need to proceed with caution lest you become overwhelmed with feelings of helplessness.

Sometimes I have those same feelings. Then I remind myself that before I was born I didn't know I didn't exist, and the same will hold true after I die. So there's really nothing to be afraid of. What's the old saying? -- The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

You have already seen how much support and good advice you get from the people here. What a great resource this message board and those like it are. So much better than relying on window washers from the local kingdom hall.

well, i have been trying to fade peacefully for months, for the sake of my wife and family.

to do this, i have had to hold my tongue about most of what i know, and i have done a good job of it until now.

the other day, i was hanging out with my buddy who misses most meetings, but still believes it's the truth.

You might be able to use the two-witness rule, but you could also be accused of "loose conduct" or "promoting a sect" and I dunno if two witnesses need be used in such a circumstance. I feel for folks like you who just wanna fade and carry on a normal life without fear of reprisal from a bunch of jagoffs.

from what i`ve learned about the bible and early judaism, i`ve realised that judaism wasn`t originally a monotheistic religion.

when moses comes down from the mountain, in exodus 19 with the commandments, and "thou shalt not have any other gods besides me" (or whatever...), this doesn`t mean that no other gods existed, just that yhwh was their god, and this is the one they should worship (for bringing them out egypt etc etc).

and then he sees his people who have built the gold calf, and he gets all upset, cause they just wont listen to him.

sir82, it's only a salvation issue to evangelical fundies (including nontrinitarian fundies like Christadelphians and Jdubs).

But you're right. The Bible contains precious little dogmatic doctrine that is spelled out to easily understand. The NT writers even admit Jesus kept certain people from understanding, spoke in signs and figures of speech and riddles, and "Peter" noted that a lot of xtians were confused about "Paul's" epistles.

That's why the councils of Nicea and Chalcedonia (sp?) spelled out the creeds, which of course Assembly of God Pentecostals, Christadelphians, IBSA, and JWs and to an extent SDA all disagree with.

Well, if the questions were presented as more of a slice than a dozen whole pies, it might be easier to continue a dialogue. As it is, I can't see why anybody would spend 10 hours answering all those questions in a comprehensive manner, especially since they aren't original questions but rather a copy-and-paste from some anti-JW website.

4:) Is Jesus a TRUE god or Is Jesus a false god?

That question has been demonstrated time and again on this board as a false dichotomy. People who ask such questions expecting to catch a JW in a "AHA!" moment are being a little intellectually dishonest and don't understand JW theology very well at all, though they think they do.
