That isn't Naeblis. The impersonator in the pic is only wearing one measly shirt.

Who is Know_You
by Satanus inhere is a chance for everyone to post their thought as to who is the phenom known, at this moment, as know_you.
his posts show me, among other things, the following: intelligence, well rounded education, christian background/faith, long time jw, perhaps not jw at the moment, likely british, moral code.
for those reasons, i think he is who previously used the name hillary-step.

The caffeine addiction
by kenpodragon insome people are "morning people", some people are "night people" and some people just smile in both the night and the day to annoy me.
i am what you would call "not a morning person" and thus i like to drink coffee.
mocha's have always been my taste of choice and thus i own my own little espresso machine and make myself espresso mocha's a lot to make this "night person" a little more alive in the mornings of life.

I remember when the WT said that caffeine addiction was as bad as drugs or alcohol.
So I chastised my wife for drinking so much Pepsi. And I felt outraged when an elder told the bookstudy group that he needed 3-4 cups of coffee every morning to get in shape for the day.
Then I started drinking half a case of beer a day.

WBTS Embraces the Internet!
by Stephanus inthe investigator article (1997):.
http://www.adam.com.au/bstett/jwembracesinternet54.htmafter downplaying the usefulness of computers and condemning the internet and electronic bulletin boards as a place for pornography, and a "moral minefield", the watchtower society (wts) came on the internet this year with their own web site!
it seems skeptics aren't fooled by hypocrisy anymore than apostates.

Jim, Steph referred to a 1997 article. I remember when apostates made fun of www.watchtower.org cause it was blank.

What Was the Most Unbelievable Thing You've Heard?
by minimus inwhat's the most unbelievable thing you've ever heard while you were a witness?
one thing that stands out for me is being told that i would never go thru junior or high school because the end was right around the corner.....what about you??

I heard that God spoke his judgments and denunciations by means of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses.
I also heard that demonized mirrors would not break and demonized perfume bottles would keep reappearing every morning on some poor unsuspecting sister's dresser.
And now I hear that the Awake! magazine will only be issued monthly instead of bi-monthly in certain languages!!!!
Also, I heard a sister tell us from the platform that she lost control of her car but the angels grabbed the steering wheel and saved her from certain disaster. She died a year later of cancer.
One brother said from the platform that "Jesus got the shaft."
And I swear that, just once, I saw You Know post a nice message to all us filthy, foul apostates.

Talk by a Branch Overseer
by Defender ina branch overseer of an asian country who happened to be visiting some of his family members in our area, gave a talk this evening in the hall that i used to attend.
i have not been attending meetings for months, but decided to go when my mother, a devout jw, came to visit me last week.
the branch overseer had just returned from attending the annual meeting in new york.

minimus,
If one takes the Bible seriously, one should understand that the people God used all through its pages were a bunch of screwups. The WT organization is no different.
James,
I think the WT is as full of crap as anybody. My point is accusations against JWs by people who allege to believe in "God's Word" are very often hypocritical. They seem to think that God is immutable and the ones he uses ought to be completely free from making mistakes and teaching error. The Bible indicates otherwise.

Defender,
: Was it the will of Jehovah or Jesus to preach about 1914, then 1915, then 1916, then 1918, then 1920, then 1925, then 1940s, then1975, and finally this Generation ?
Could have been. How do you know it wasn't? Jehovah told Jonah to go preach Ninevah's destruction, then he changed his mind. Did that make Jonah's preaching invalid? Did that make Jonah a false prophet? Or did it serve some sort of purpose, even though God's judgment did not come as promised?
: Is it a form of true worship when countless JWs enganged in studying, preparing, underlining, talking about, and distributing a plethora of publications that taught the above doctrines?
Could have been. After walking and talking with Jesus for 3 1/2 years, and then spending 40 long days in Kingdom instruction ,the apostles still thought the kingdom would be manifesting itself immediately and upon Israel. And yet Jesus didn't condemn them or stop using them.
: Is it a form of true worship when JWs recruited many other people based on the above failed doctrines?
Could be. Paul said that if deceit furthered the spread of the good news, may he be such a liar.
: Is Jehovah or Jesus pleased to see hundred of thousands or millions of JWs become disillusioned and quit after having their expectations dashed or finding that their faith had been based on wrong premises that were ingrained by false messages?
Perhaps, yes. Jesus said he was looking for sheeplike people who would listen to his "voice." If people focus on human errors and not the significance of Jesus' ransom and the working of the holy spirit, that is their problem, and they most likely served for a date instead of truly wanting to please Jehovah.
: Is Jehovah or Jesus pleased with the billions of hours spent by Bethel brothers preparing, printing, and distributing these failed publications.
What about the countless weeks and months Jesus spent with his disciples, and yet they failed to grasp even the most simplest of teachings? Jesus even resorted to referencing Satan in chastisement of his close companion Peter when he denied the destiny of the Messiah.
: Is Jehovah pleased with the millions of dollars wasted in these publications. Is Jesus content in seeing millions of JWs spend their resources and hours on preaching false messages?
If it furthers the advancement of godly devotion, certainly. Who ever said JWs had to be 100% right about everything, particularly in regards to prophetic speculation, in order to be pleasing to God?
