I just did an evil
by seven006 ini went down to the local 7/11 a few miles from my house to by some 7/11 stuff.
as i was standing at the counter i glanced out at my car to see a little cheerleader wannabe girl leaning against it.
she was drinking a slushy type drink talking to her bubble gum little chicky buddies in her mom's new lincoln navigator next to my car.

I'm sure he lived his life to the fullest and I'm surprised to say he made it this long.
I remember as a kid watching his show here in America on rogue TV stations that would air him and Benny Hill and Monty Python. He was always my favorite. Remember that sketch where he said "they say I drowning man sees his life go before his eyes" and then they show a man at sea drowning and he is flashbacking to his days of drinking, gambling, women, etc. and when he washes up ashore two men turn him over and he's wearing a priest's collar. LOL. Or when he'd put his cigarette out in his whiskey. ~:) God bless Dave Allen.

Thank you very much for the birthday wishes. Nobody else has bothered, and no presents have come my way, but that's okay. I did my own gift-giving at the hospital where I received lots of thank-yous from the patients and the staff. Oh, and I have to skip on the beer too as I gave up drinking 3 years ago. ;) [edited]

My JW parents and JW ex-wife
by Cygnus insince my episode, which is chronicled elsewhere on this board, my jw parents are driving up from florida to stay a week with me.
my ex-wife, who *i* divorced mainly because she was jw, came to see me tonight without my calling, just to check up on me and make sure i was okay.. some jws aren't that bad, friends.
remember that when you think of blindly look to condemn them all.

JT, how true that is.
NewLight2, thanks.
Six, I'm way over beliving in fairy tales. I can't control my dreams. But believe me I've talked to enough professionals about my JW days to get them fairly affluent.

Frog, thanks for the kind words.
Six, I've been on these boards for eight years. I know what I'm talking about and what I am doing. I quit the JWs in 1997 and was finally DF'd in 2000 for association with a DF'd person. Had a good time with it all. But thanks man.

I located a 1975 W.T. year book.....A question for you?
by hubert ini found a 1975 yearbook at a used book store, but i didn't buy it, as it's kind of pricey.
however, if there is anything good in it that i can use for my research on the watchtower, i would buy it in a minute.
does anyone know if there is anything different or new that was said in it to make it worth my while to buy for my research?

My recollection is the 1975 yearbook contains some juicy admissions about the failure of the 1925 promises. If I came across one in decent condition for say, 10 bucks, I'd buy it.

cleaning the mind and the implanting of right thinking . . . 1970 Yearbook
by garybuss inyearbook of jehovah's witnesses 1970 p.9.
watch tower bible & tract society of pennsylvania 1969 need for mental cleansing.
it is evident, therefore, that there must be a cleaning out of the mind if there is to be an implanting of right thinking.

Real brainwashing doesn't work. What JWs did was much more successful. Not so much today however. Heck you can be Prince and be a JW, or you can run a website like Partners In The Truth. In 2005 it ain't the same religion it used to be. And I bet that really pisses off a lot of the traveling overseers and the old timers at Bethel.

New Conversion Story at Catholic Ex-JW.com

Hi Jeff old friend. I like your website and stories. I watched you on EWTN and you did great. I wish I had your faith and I admire strong Catholics. Think if I walked into a church a priest might take some time to talk with me about faith and god without trying to convert me? Because I don't believe in God but there's a big spiritual void in my life that I don't know how to even start to fill.
