I hadn't realized e-watchman had that much support, that there were that many JWs going against the WTS' directives.
What's this March 20 change in policy regarding DF/DA ones? Can someone at least PM it to me? Thanks.
watchman, as many know from reformer websites such as (1) e-watchman.com and (2) e-jehovahs-witnesses.com discussion board, has been officially disfellowshipped from all congregations of jehovah's witnesses!.
here is the link to the sudden change in status for him: .

are you all jehovas witnesses?
found it hard to find a forum.
most are by non jehovas witnesses to bear out critiscisms.
Quickly, WTS stands for Watchtower Society, the legal instrument and publishing agency used by the Jehovah's Witnesses.
It's tough to briefly summarize what JWs believe. For their sanitized version, try www.watchtower.org
My last landlord before I bought my house was a practicing Hindu, a good man, and taught me a lot. It's a religion I'd be interested in if I could resolve my spiritual issues with gods existing.
i was thinking what were jesus last seven statements, & what were there meanings?
it would be after his cruification & before his official death.
any thoughts?
The Psalmist was pretty deluded too. ;)
I forget the exact passage, but somewhere near the end of John it is admitted that much of what Jesus said and did was never recorded. That almost sounds like an admission that what _was_ recorded are myths and legends.
i have learned alot about the wts.
and disagree with allot of it.
but i still believe in jah.
No, I don't believe in Jehovah or the Bible. I wish I had faith (what bornagains call a "relationship with Jesus"). For years I shunned spirituality - who needed it? My idol was Ayn Rand. Now I'm feeling a spiritual void, badly. James Thomas and Undecided (Ken P.) are two of the wisest persons on this board, by the way.
two of the elders on my appeal committee called me yesterday to let me know they are upholding the decision to df me.
of course, there was no question that they would do that, i even told the guy last time he called that i only appealed to buy some time before the announcement to visit with my jw family.. the interesting thing is how long this has drug on.
my original committee decided to df me towards the end of january, i appealed at the beginning of february, and now i'll finally be announced near the end of march.
Dave, your dad just doesn't know what to do right now. My dad had 4 kids. 3 of them quit the religion and did a LOT WORSE wordly things than you and should have been DF'd. I was the only one who got DF'd and it was for the flimsiest of reasons. My JW parents talk to me, do things for me, help me, look out for me, LOVE me. Heck, during this personal crisis I'm facing right now they drove up from Florida just to see me. So hang in there, I have faith that more and more older JWs are going to end up feeling this way about DF'ing and shunning,

jesus, himself tells us just how important it is.
Ok Alan, I'll take your word for it. I am aware that Gangas was fluent in modern Greek, not Koine Greek. I have been told by some renegade but loyal JWs that a lot more went into the NWT than just Freddy sitting in a darkly lit room hacking out phrases. Thanks for the yakking on the phone the other day BTW. You're one of a kind, in many things.

Was Ray Franz on the NWT committee? Is it true that Fred Franz did most of the translation work himself, or did he have "scholarly" help by capable people? Were any of you there? This claim that no Greek or Hebrew scholars worked on the NWT is nothing but conjecture.
i have done some research on the truth regarding the godhead and who the god of the bible truly is.
i have studied all the denominations of christianity, those who deny the deity of christ, and those who don't, those who believe in a trinity and those who do not.
after years upon years of diligent studies i have concluded:.
Interlinears are good for little else than an intermediate study of Greek. It amazes me that the John 1:1 "difference" between the NWT and the KIT is still so championed by trinitarians. I have questioned many a teacher of trinitarianism and found them to be absolute nincompoops or outright liars.
Given that the trinity has its own self-inherent logic, it has certain value. However, Greg Stafford's JW apologetic book(s) do (does) an excellent job determing the meanings (yes plural) of passages such as John 1:1, John 20:28, John 8:58, et al. Get his book or find his online debates. If I were to believe in Jesus again I would be a non-trinitarian Catholic and lean towards the concept that Christ had his origin at birth. But the whole story is so full of holes it's impossibly difficult (at this stage in my spiritual journey) to accept any of it.

she's like 50 or 51 now, but when "girls just wanna have fun" came out, as a red blooded teenage boy i was totally in love.. just thought you all needed to know.
Dude, you feel old. I have a few Twisted Sister videos that I downloaded. I am about as old as the father they abused mercilessly. :(

Michael Stipe... one of the most overrated singers of all time (along with Bono). But at least he's bald like me. One show here in Buffalo he had his lyrics on a stand in front of him. Kinda lame if you ask me.
