  hi again kids!

  i was thinking last night about what i could do to help quotes out, and really, to help everyone fight back and support quotes in his time of need.

  A Paduan is correct. I first noticed this on watchtower.org 4-5 years ago... They just haven't revised or updated the material in the brochure for its appearance on the webpage. Why they haven't is anybody's guess, they have to be aware of it. Talk about being embarrassed by a website...

  i was at work -- a manager in a hospital that is the regional treatment center for one medical specialty...region includes nyc.

  someone came & grabbed me hard by the arm and pulled me into a room, where i saw every single mgr.

  sitting silently watching tv.

  I was in my work truck driving from a job to the builder's supply yard to purchase some materials, with a fellow who'd worked for us for 6 years at that point so I knew him well. When we got to the brickyard nobody seemed to be around. I finally found everyone huddled around a TV and said rather loudly, "What's going on? Who's workin' here?"... cause we always busted balls at that joint. It was about 9:30 and they were showing replays of the 2nd plane. I calmly bought what I needed, loaded up the truck, and drove back to the job listening to the radio news reports. My partner was a veteran, having served in the Navy and at Grenada, and when I noticed his face, riddled with sadness and anger, and then tears, I started to tear up myself. Then I said to myself, Suck it up, you've got work to do.

  We worked all day, and when I got home I eventually watched the news, but casually. I wasn't "glued to the tube." I was in a state of denial that it had happened in a way, and hardened myself to what had happened.

  A year later on the morning of 9/11/02 I woke up for the first time in my own bed after open heart surgery that saved my life. I thought long and hard about how lucky i was to be alive...... and I started to decide on things that would change my life forever.

  some of my email to the writer of the article:if you ever do some follow up, the scandal in the catholic religion involving priests getting away with molesting children for years is well known; there has also been a similar scandal in the jehovah's witness religion.

  this one is in many persons' opinions more peculiarly interesting because according to jw rule the jw religion's judicial proceedings will not commence against a member for wrongdoing (such as sexual "sins", even predatory ones involving children) unless two persons testify to have witnessed the alleged event.

In the case of sexual misconduct of a minor by an adult, this is extremely unlikely to occur, and JWs have been and still are cautioned against or even felt restricted by their religion's elders to not bring the matter to the attention of the secular authorities, the police. Thus over the last many decades there have been thousands upon thousands of abuses in that religion, thereby some of its critics label it a "pedophiles paradise."   WATCHTOWER PUBLICLY ADMITS HUMAN OPINION AND NOT GOD'S SPIRIT

  can any christian imagine jesus christ taking the pharisees to court and complaining to the sanhedrin:

  "stop these men from quoting me accurately--it is embarassing!"?

  the pharisees twisted words for their own benefit and opposed jesus publicly for exposing their errors as errors of men spouting human opinion and passing it off as god's authority.

  I wonder why this wouldn't be on www.jw-media.org ? What are they afraid of, since it seems they address so many other issues there that aren't discussed openly in the Watchtower or announcements/letters from the Society posted in local KHs.

  The last #4 talk I gave at the TMS was totally apostate in that I selected Bible passages to read that the WT has always applied to the anointed and I applied them to the "other sheep" which our entire congo consisted of. I never received more compliments from 'the friends' after giving a talk than I did for that one.

  i have to say that generally the criticism on this board toward jws is over the top.. i personally have huge problems with the 'truth' right now in my life but i notice the ones who have literally nothing good to say about anything.. there are a lot of good witnesses and a lot of good doctrine and a lot of good motives among jws.. criticism fine, but jesus commended when due.. .

  Sorry, I've only read a few pages of this thread, but why is the WTS suing for only $100K? Is that the legal limit to sue for in Canadian law under the statute their suit was placed under?

  i am interested to learn that under the law, minors cannot donate or gift, money, property or possessions.

  from the age of 9 - 16 i gave money and time to the wts.

  let's say i gave $1 a week.

  Eduardo would likely know something about this, but my guess is since the contributions were made voluntarily and you have nothing legally stating that just because you put money in the local KH donation box you become part-owners, you're entitled to zilch in retribution.
