i was recently searching the web for information on 607 to discuss with my wife and i came up with this.
http://www.jehovahsjudgment.co.uk/607/default.html these people say that they are proving the watchtowers 607 date correct.
i am convinced that the watchtower is wrong because of all the other things that i have researched but i would welcome any feedback.
The average JW doesn't really care about chronology though. The Watchtower could drop the 607 BCE doctrine tomorrow and most JWs would accept the "New Light" in stride without blinking an eye.
HOW TRUE, HOW TRUE.

anybody here attend the deep river, ct or nearby congregations in the 1980s/90s?
I was in the East Haven hall at the time. I remember his son Todd. I lost contact with them when they moved to Deep River. I am now living in Upstate New York.

consider the scene: jesus has just been baptized and immediately leaves for an extended stay in the wilderness all on his lonesome.
now ... already this is something the governing body would discourage any jw from doing, but i digress.. along comes satan.
jesus knows it is satan, because of how satany he is.
AuldSoul, do you know whether or not a JW is allowed to quote scriptures at a former JW in response to questions?

since leaving the jw's most of us have also left most of their doctrine.
so that being the case, most of us have left the wt understanding of 1914. now you know that the wt claims that satan was hurled out of heaven in that year down to the vicinity of the earth.
so the question is: if 1914 is just another year to us, then what are your thoughts as to the whereabouts of satan and his followers?.
Thanks Guys
I had fun with this one.

zack, on another thread, said he heard this figure from the platform at both the 2006 elders' school and his recent pioneer school:.
that there were 93,000 elders in 1994, and less than 60,000 today, in the united states.. i thought these figures deserved their own thread, as they are shocking to me, and to see if anyone else has heard anything similar.. i'll post a link to the other thread as well.
.
This is a good thing. The fewer the better. Hope this is just the beginning of the downfall. Let the domino effect continue.

i believe it will be sooner than many of us perhaps think, in the western world at least.. i noticed in a thread the other day about baptism that the longest most people raised as jws waited to get baptised was the age of 18, and most got dipped well before that age.
the last few assemblies i attended, just about all the baptismal candidates seemes to be young and even pre teen kids of jws who had been pressured into baptism by their parents and congregation elders.
i can hardly remember the last person to come in to my old cong through being contacted in the field ministry, unless it's happened in the 18 months since i stopped attending, which i very much doubt.
In the US and other western countries the KH halls will soon be getting boarded up in the areas of low population densities as they fall below the core number of JW's and elders needed to sustain a meeting structure and pay their bills.
I cant wait to see this.

I attended the East Haven/ Branford/ New Haven area halls in the 70's and 80's. I Remember a family that moved from the East Haven Hall and settled in Deep River. Their name was Vicstrom.

just a little breaking news:.
after several years of a great friendship with diane (previously posted as xena) things have started to really come together recently and i've succumbed to making an honest woman of her (or at least as honest as it's possible to make her.
last night (xmas day) i popped the question and she agreed to marry me (i wonder if she knows what she's let herself in for!!!)..
From Good Ole New York, Congrats
