My Christmas wish for you

by mouthy ini received many cards from so very many, but you all have to remember i am beginning to start demntia.... i thank you all ,my apartment is surronded with them , which i have to say pleases me muchly ..... but if you didnt put your logo ( name jwd) i dont know who you are.

Jehovah's Witnesses a religion with nothing to celebrate
by eyeslice inthis is a re-hash of a post i made a few years back when i had only just 'left'.
but as time has gone by i have become even more convinced that the witnesses are, how can i put this, a fairly miserable lot.
it seems to me that what separates humans from other animals is our culture and traditions.

I think you hit it right on when you said that they "observe" and not celebrate the Memorial. In fact I believe in the NWT the scripture uses the term "as often" as you eat and drink. To me the term "as often" would mean more than just once a year. Just my opinion. Happy Holidays.

RIP Dansk (aka Ian), 18.12.1953- 20.12.2008

i need to let you know that dad passed away this morning at 8am.
he fought so hard but in the end they could not get his blood pressure to rise and he died of heart failure.

I am so sorry for the sad news. Your dad was such an inspiration to me when I was just coming out a few years ago. I cannot say in words how much he meant to not just me but all of us here. He will be greatly missed.

Worshiping Jesus in WT Charter

in the beginning of the tape he talks about how he was disfellowshipped for worshiping jesus.
he goes on to talk about heb 1:6 from earlier translations and the footnote from the reference bible and the use of the word worship.

I was just listening to a tape by Jay Hess ( former WT writer ) on Sixscreensofthewatchtower. In the beginning of the tape he talks about how he was disfellowshipped for worshiping Jesus. He goes on to talk about Heb 1:6 from earlier translations and the footnote from the Reference bible and the use of the word worship. What I found amazing is that he then goes on to talk about the WT Charter. I had no idea there even was one. He mentioned it is talked about in the Daniel book on page 178, also mentioned in Reasoning book on page 202. The amendment to this charter was recorded on Feb 27, 1945 and is still looked to today as fulfilling scripture. The amendment Volume 70 pages 171,172 7th subsection, section 2 says, and I am paraphrasing from the tape: the Charter is for ... public christian WORSHIP of Almighty God and CHRIST JESUS.
Can anyone get a scan of this charter?

Local Needs Talk....Why Are People Missing Meetings?

" meeting attendance has never been as low as it has been this year!
if anyone here knows of someone who is not attending meetings please stop in on them to let them know they are making satan happy.

forgot to ad he said he has called me several times but i did not answer my cell....i said bullshit....i was his best man at his wedding!!.....i would never not answer his call....and told him so in a nice manner.........but geeze he never even left a message!..........liar
Oompa, I guess he forgets about modern technology. Most phones nowadays have caller ID on what calls they missed.
