Yesterday my father informed me that he will shun me...
by nvrgnbk inbut only if a judicial committee tells him to.. if they say i'm inactive and let me be, he can still talk to me.. it's meaningless, because i would never meet with a jc, but he let me know where he stands.. he's dead to me.. i'm not hurting.. lost tons of respect for the man.. i told him he was brainwashed and left him without saying goodbye.. to no longer live for his approval was liberating, but this is even better.. i told him that i couldn't do that to my son.. his response?.
unconditional love is a lie.. you only get unconditional love from a dog.. sick, brainwashed, emotionally bankrupt man.. p.s.- not looking for cyber hugs.
just sharing the experience for others going through similar things and for lurkers to see what this cult does to people.. regards,.

I can still hear my fathers words : "if any of my sons or daughters fail Jehovah, mine is the first knife for his throat"... I remember my kid sister running away from home because she was too scared to tell dad she had committed a sin... As an elder I could never reconcile such harsh words with the 'heavenly' love of JesusChrist and tried to be the kind of elder that really cared.. only to find that the only love that exists in that sect or cult is the love of appearances... and that if you dare disagree you will be expelled and shun from everything you've ever known as family and friends...
I have (or maybe I dont) a brother who is still an elder... I dont know where he lives because he moved and never gave me his address.. I wonder what would happen if there was an emergency... this is the same brother (and I mean brother as sibling) that after being expelled and being shun by my ex-wife and having no place to go, told to get out of the house because it was affecting my parents status in the congregation... we almost got into a physical fight over it... eventually I left my parents house so everyone could be happy....
Many years have passed and I know for a fact that my father has regretted uttering those words... actually I reminded him once while I received a lashing (words) for not wanting to submit and be humble and return to the 'ark' (BARF!!!) ... he just lowered his head...
So my friend this is the price of freedom and real truth... get used to it... It took me a long long time to realize that they are victims... willing but victims of a vicious and cruel brainwash...
Hang in the... the 'world' is not as bad as they paint it... and you will find friends and family in new places...

I am a former 'elder' from Puerto Rico... got df'd when I expressed 'non-conforming' views etc etc (you all know the drill)... When I received the 'citation' to attend my JC, I realized that not going to it was the best way to express my contempt... after all, as I told them, they were going to do whatever they felt like doing... I told them to their face that they had no authority whatsover that I would acknowledge and respect... I also told that as a former Secretary of the cong, I had made copies of all the JC records **SMILE** ... enough to write a book!
After changing colors and almost fainting they told me that there was no need for a JC... that my words were equivalent to DA myself... and that since I had no interest in the TRUTH and the Organization... I should not keep the records anymore... that I should remember that a one time they were my brothers etc etc.. and that Jehovah is always willing to forgive...
I proceeded to extend both my middle fingers... and said "dont worry be happy... but I am keeping those records.. get a lawyer and sue me if you can"
I have never used anything I copied... but it sure made me (and still makes me!) smile ...
It is very simple to strip the of their so called 'power'...just dont recognize it!
