well this all deapends on what view you have.before christ i was talking about the jews.ovesley after christ dead they were no longer his people.thats isnt to say there was never people who loved God.there was there were people who died for God.but in the last days in matthew it talks about a faithel and discreet slave giving out the food at the proper time.so in the time of the end as daniel saidin chapter 12v4 the true knowledge woule become abundant

well dave what i ment about understanding both sides is i can see seculer history backs 586bce.but i do beleave personaly that the jews were captive in babylon for 70years.those scriptures are very important forget what historians say about 586bce and what people say about 607bce the key to finding whats right and whats wrong lies in those scriptures.if you dont use eather dates to get a view on the scriptures and just read them with a open mind.i think any one would find it hard to come to any other conclusion other than the jews being captive in babylon 70 years.and u asked me about the blood isue.let me ask you do you think the bible allwos you to take another persons blood into your body?

my self ive been a jehovahs wittness since 1997.and some things are hard to acept.but i truly do love jehovah and not matter what comes in life ill stick to him best i can.you no.people say we dont need organised religion but jehovah has all ways had a group of people.and if you go back to bible times and look at them they did wicked things but they were still Gods people.what im saying is people shouldnt look at the watchtower sosity and exspect perfection you wont find it.in fact you wont find it any were.every person on this website has things they wish they could forget

What is the best JW book please?

hi everyone.. i'm keen to read more books about jw's.

i've so far only read crisis of conscience but now have the appetite.i'd be more interested in the background of the organisation and what kind of people russell and rutherford were etc, but i'd also like to read any "apostate" exposes, especially ex elders.

hi im one of jehovahs wittnesses.and from what i can see the bible clearly shows the seventy years apply to the captivity of the jews in babylon.so its all down to what you think the scriptures say.so if the scriptures say it doesnt apply to the jews in captivity.then we are wrong.but if it does.then you can forget what people say about the date 586 bce because if you use the bible Gods word as your guide the lenth of captivity was longer than 50 years.a lot of people prase men who wright these books on how the wittnesses are wrong.and fail to see that these people are made of flesh and blood just like the men in the watchtower organition.the way i view it is. if the date was 586 bce was correct it doesnt change the fact we are in the last days.and with out twisting things what group on earth bring prase to jehovah as being allmighty God?so by saying that i mean the bible promises that jehovahs day is coming and he says he will save the person who does his will so dates and who is right and wrong are not importent. when it comes down to being saved its about how we live our life. and from what i can see of carl o johnsons work his faith isnt a strong one he wrought a article on noahs flood and was saying it was more than likely a local flood.well for a man who says he wanted to stick to what the bible said and not the watch tower he isnt doing a very good job because if it was just a local flood then why would there be need to build a ark to put animals in if the flood is off small proportion.and the list goes on for arguments against it being just a loal flood.there are also things ive seen were he quotes from watchtowers as saying things about appostates. i checked the watchtower article he was refering to and half of it was made up.so why do people take what these men say as absoulute truth.a number of reasons to put it simple one good reason is people would love to see jehovahs wittnesses be wrong because they clame to have the truth of the bible some ex wittnesses simply didnt want that life style so finding somebody who says there wrong is like a comfort to them.talking of ex jws they say they have been told what to do and what to think by a group of men.well surley by reading such books as gentile times reconsidered.is simply beleaving another mans view on things.

"seven times" in Daniel applied to whom?

this is something of intrest to all.so far many have learned that the "seven times" in dan 4:25 had seemed to apply that the 2520 yrs from the date 607bc took us to the date 1914. seeing now that conclusive evidence that the 607bc date is wrong and the date 587 or 586bc is the correct date, this puts the calulations out of wack.

so who did the "seven times"apply to?

well, if the whole chapter 4 and verses 20+21 of chapter 5 is read, we can see that the "seven times" only applied to nebuchadnezzar himself- and no one else.

from reading daniel my self it clearly shows that the seven times applies to a future time.because it says that people may no that the most high is ruler in the kingdom of mankind and to the one who he wants to he gives it even the lowliest of one of mankind.so from that verse we can see it talks about the kingdom of mankind.which is ovesley talking about gods kingdom.then it says and whom he wants he gives it too even the lowliest one of mankind.now if your honest with your self who was lowliest of all men in my opion it certainly wasnt neb.u.chad.nez zar.it was jesus christ.so it seems jehovah is talking about a time when Gods kingdom will be set up and at that time he gives it to his son to rule.
