  What about the scriptural obligation to preach?

  i've always been taught that each disciple of christ has a scriptural obligation to preach, and to do so in imitation of jesus and his disciples.

  they did this by house to house, in synagogues, and in the marketplaces.

  this is one thing that has always kept me close to jehovah's witnesses.

  Don't know if this has been said yet, but once again, many things change from bible times. Just like if they had blood transfutions in bible times, might they be allowed had Paul or whoever known they were safe, and lclean? Preaching.....if witnesses wanted to follow the Bible's teachings, wouldn't they go door to door talking about the Bible? not handing out their literature looking for new converts. Jesus didn't look for new Jehovah's Witnesses. Also, if witnesses are that bent on preaching, why don't they put computers in the hall and go into chatrooms preaching? Seems to me they're more like quakers.

  i'm not willing to reveal my age, which is one less than 17 or one more than 15. but i just wanted to get your guys' opinion on sex before marriage.

  a lot of people here have kinda lost their "watchtower" and biblical standards as i have gathered.

  Hi. As many may know, i'm still a teenager. I'm not willing to reveal my age, which is one less than 17 or one more than 15. But i just wanted to get your guys' opinion on sex before marriage. A lot of people here have kinda lost their "watchtower" and biblical standards as I have gathered. I'm starting to lose mine too. But whenever i think of that situation coming up, i think to myself, "No d0rkyd00d, it's just not right." I honestly don't know why i still feel guilt about this issue. I'm losing faith in the bible, and i no longer feel guilty about "self pleasure", like i was taught to as a witness. Whatcha guys think? I know this is kinda a touchy subject. But just need some opinions.

  50 years ago respected textual critic ernest cadman colwell created an apparatus of 64 scriptures to determine which is the best new testament.

  very interesting topic guys! I love this kind of stuff, though it scares me to death. anywho, i don't have any scary stories for ya.
  =( However, i seriously doubt the entire demon excuse for it. Why would demons waste their time in trying to make you believe in ghosts, or scaring you into praying to Jehovah? As for the waking dreams bit, i've become very interested in them since i love alien stuff, and each case seems pretty closely related to waking dreams. it's amazing what ur brain can do...the power of belief is an amazing thing. There are many things on this earth we don't understand, and that scares us. what we don't understand scares us beyond belief. my question to ghosts: why don't they appear in wide open places in broad daylight? are they afraid of the light? are they afraid of places people aren't scared of? such as busy parks and such? just a thought. one question i'd like to ask is, what about witchcraft? does anybody here practice it, and if so, does it work at all?

  Hey Mulan, prove it! and if your response is to that is something along the lines of, that's where faith comes in, then i have to say you were not born with this faith. it was instilled in you by your surrounding christian environment.

  Maybe the guy in the hospital bed said his own prayer and God heard him and blessed him because he knows what is in his heart and felt he wasworthy of another chance at life.

  So ur telling me that every other time a guy in that situation died, even though people were praying for him, he had a "bad" heart? I'm thinking no, and monkey. <----sorry bout the monkey part. that's a habit. ;) Anyways, i seriously doubt God would answer a prayer like that, considering many with a good heart die every single year, no matter how much they're prayed for. but that's a different post. let's stick to the question at hand. ;)

  Just kidding. But i need some sort of lead in to my question. When you are born, you are born into a religion. If, that is, your parents are religious people, and most people are. Most people are also born into some sect of Christianity, whether it be Jehovah's Witness ( not a discussion on whether or not they ARE christians ), or catholics, or mormons. Any way you look at it, most of us are Christians.

  Which brings up my question. All christians believe in christ as their savior, and dismiss all other religions as false. Now, were you PREDESTINED to be a Christian? What about the billions of people who are not Christians? Obviously, they believe in their own faith strongly. How can you prove to them that Christianity is the "right" religion? How can you teach them that Jesus was the final prophet and son of God? The only basis we have is the Bible. but they don't use the Bible. What now? One more question. If you had been born into another religion, and felt as strongly about it as you do Christianity, do you think some point in your life you'd discover Christianity and convert? If you were living in a country that was predominantly, say, Hindu? Or would you be destroyed?
