  Blood Transfusions - Eating blood???

  i don't understand how the wt links blood transfusion and eating blood?

  http://www.watchtower.org/e/hb/article_01.htm from their website, it is obvious that they can gain the conclusion from the bible that eating blood is wrong.. but from leviticus 17:1-16 10as for any man of the house of israel or some alien resident who is residing as an alien in your midst who eats any sort of blood, i shall certainly set my face against the soul that is eating the blood, and i shall indeed cut him off from among his people.11for the soul of the flesh is in the blood, and i myself have put it upon the altar for you to make atonement for your souls, because it is the blood that makes atonement by the soul [in it].12that is why i have said to the sons of israel: no soul of you must eat blood and no alien resident who is residing as an alien in your midst should eat blood.. i don't see how they can turn around and say that blood should not be used for its propper use which is to flow through your veins and sustain your life.

  well it looks like this site is a real melting pot, a broad spectrum of views and beliefs.

  for sure there are many disaffected ex jws.

  so in as few words as possible, preferably not more than one sentence, how would you describe yourself spiritually?

  I am spiritual, neo pagan, with some buddist beliefs but avoid any organised religion. Everyone should be free to believe as they will. I kinda believe in reincarnation and enlightenment but not in a judgemental way. I believe in energies. Theres lots more to it, but I think that will do. Im just about to leave for our new Years Party! Happy New Year everyone, love Aphrodite.

  Thankyou SirNose very helpfull. Another thing, if this is so important to god, why did he make ticks, mosquitos and leaches plus intestnal worms and various other creatures that eat blood? Isn't the blood sacred?

It even says: "For the life of the flesh is in the blood." So surely its ok to use blood for its propper and natural use. Its not natural to eat it, but it is natural to have it running through your veins?

  Does your belief system make you nicer

  or, does your nature help determine the belief system that you choose?

  if you lose your belief system, do you become worse, better, stay the same, happier, sadder?

  is it better to have a system imposed on you in order to control you, or is it better to be yourself?

  I think it depends on what you mean by "nice" and what you mean by "belief system". My son believes in Santa and that he'd better be nice or he won't get any presents. So yes, it makes him be a little nicer to his sister.

  My belief system is based on "Come from a place of love not fear." I try not to judge others but "Be in acceptance of all that comes my way". I am a nicer person now, than I was when I had the witnesses belief system.

  I went to the doctor today and was told I'm going to hell!!!!!!!!!!

  i went to my gp today.

  i go there quite often since he's also my parent's doctor and i bring them to all their appointments.. i take my dad there at least once a month for blood work since he is on blood thinners, so i'm very familiar with the lady who draws blood.. today i had to have blood drawn myself, and the lady inquired about my parents.

  she asked if they had had a nice christmas.

  I think she basicly said you might go to hell if you don't join some kind of religion. Its OK though my sisters GP who is treating her for depression told her she was a white witch and gave her a shop and some books to look up. He said she was very powerful. heh! Who'da thought it.

  i am starting this thread since low-key lysmith and momzcrazy were very surprised they are here on jwd on my thread about what congregations they have attended in their lifetime, so who knows we might be surprised for more online reunions.

  Well growing up I was in Congregations in Adelaide Hills, Port Lincoln, Grafton and Bonville. Im not DF'd but I might send in my DA letter if I can be bothered. Anyone else here from those areas? Anyone remember me?
