'if husband joined a satanic group would a wife still have to be submissive?' ------ That just cracks me up, Carla! Today is one of those long, tedious, extremely frustrating kind of days, so THANK YOU for making me laugh. I can just see my dubsband's face if he pulled the head-of-the-house crapola and I said that (after I hit him upside the head with a frying pan, of course).

Have you noticed an increase in JW's with one foot in the world????
by karter ini have a few examples: a witness did a job for me an asked for cash under the table.
alot of witnesses talk more about material things than anything else.
alot of complaining about the organization mostly by people that once held positions.

Maybe they'll all be given special Jehoovie wands and walk around like Lily Tomlin in 9 to 5 amidst twittering little birds that also scavenge on our rotting corpses.

Oompa, you're right. However, I wouldn't say Clemuel RebelWife or Samson RebelWife.

Shouldn't the Watchtower study be renamed the "congregation bible study"?
by yadda yadda 2 inwhy rename the "congregation book study" the "congregation bible study" (a broad, generic term that could be applied to all meetings really) when surely it would have been more appropriate to rename the "watchtower study" that?.
after all, the watchtower study is touted as a "bible study" by the whole congregation, right?
jw's consider the watchtower study as the main weekly study of the bible that they do as a congregation, right?

As to pronouncing the name differently in different languages, I say bull. My name is a very odd one, but people from Latin countries, the Middle East and Europe can all say it right. They don't change it. It's unique. So why do people say God's name differently, if in fact we really do know his name? It doesn't bother me if people mispronounce my name because I still know who they're talking to, but it really aggravates a lot of people if you say their name wrong. I don't know how God feels about it, but I wouldn't want to piss him off by throwing around something that sort of sounds like his name. Seems very disrespectful. Terry has an excellent point about addressing our earthly fathers by their given names. I wouldn't do that. When kids say "mom", does anybody really wonder who they're talking to?

Being told that "Not all people will die at Armageddon"
by Robert7 inmy wife, who while still (at least partially) in, is an open thinker, agrees with me for the most part, and has made a recent observation... .
she brings up with her friends how it's difficult to believe that all non-jws, over 6 billion will die at armageddon.
plus will die becuase they didn't accept some magazine.

I've brought this up to my husband (who's still mentally in) several times. I make it really personal and talk about ME being zapped. I say that the printed material says everybody who's not in dies. He denies that. So then I ask him if their materials say everybody except YOUR WIFE. Splutter, splutter, leave the room. Same scenario when I've mentioned that, according to them, I'm evil. Gotta love it!

INPUT NEEDED ON JW BELIEFS
by Mary ini'm at the beginning of putting a package together regarding the wts and i'd like your opinion on which topics i should include.
basically, this would be a package for those who have family or friends in the borg, but who you think might listen to reason if it was presented in the right fashion.
it's not going to be a huge package, because i don't want to overwhelm anyone, but i want the information to be precise enough that it would stop and make them think.. so far, i'm thinking that i'd like to touch on the following:.

Please put me on the list. One big, fat thing I haven't seen listed that red-flagged this cult for me is Johanne Greber.

Mrs. W, does he ever sing part of that Jimi Hendrix song about the Watchtower? Mine does. And he's done that same thing, where he looks at me like I'm nuts when I've brought up something I saw here. I've asked him if it says somewhere everybody except his wife will die.
