Do you understand the ransom?

because i am a christian i accept the ransom with a leap of faith but undrstanding it is beyond my imagination.

i cannot justify torturing and killing the innocent, but that is only my thinking.

god must have good reasons for what he does.

Also, he really didn't die, right? Unless he is gone from the universe completely, never to be present again. In your terms, it would work like this: Kidnappers take my son and demand $100,000 for his release. I give them the $100,000, get my son back, and then print $100,000 on my money machine at home. So basically I did not lose anything.

So if I chop off your finger and they sew it back on, I didn't really hurt anything?

I'm sorry but this is so far fetched. Why would god need to die for us - he's almighty, right?

The official answer would be "to preserve justice" --

However it is that he chose to provide a way for us to get to heaven, I'm just glad he did it. If God makes rules and that means he wants to follow them too .. whatever... He's God. He can do what he wants to.

I wonder sometimes if he just wanted to see what it was like to be fully human so he decided to be a sacrifice and keep the justice rule alive. Maybe we'll get it once we get to heaven?

I happen to beling to mainstream Christianity and I'll explain it how we believe it. It seems to make much more sense this way.

First off, Jesus is God (Lets not debate trintiy -- just makes a difference in this explination)

We are all sinners. We are imperfect and sin many times. As sinners we can not ever deserve eternal life.

God is love, but God is also just and therefore must punish sin.

There seems to be a problem and this problem is solved through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. (Like if your child committed a horrible crime and you could take the punishment of death so that he/she could live -- you would be demonstrating an intense amount of love for that child).

The only way that Christ died for Adam's sin is that the sin we all have is due to Adam. So, Christ died for Adam's sin which we all have.....

i remember when i was new in the "troof", i was walking in a mall and a jw window washer saw me, and asked, "what are you doing here"?.

yeah, he had a good reason to be at the mall, cause he was washing windows, but i had no business there.... i guess he thought that i was being seduced by material stuff.... and i was stupid enough, not to tell him, mind your own business fu**er....

The elders are inspired by holy spirit but they are still imperfect and make mistakes. (if this logic is true, then you must be saying that even though the Bible is inspired, imperfect men wrote it so its full of mistakes.)

Ya know what? I am going to do it. I'll send three of them to my dad. I think I'll mail it to someone out of state and have them mail it so they won't see that it came from my town and know where it came from.

They would read them! They are non-apostate. They might think that the article is wrong and they were misinformed however. That is how I dismissed most things I read when I was a JW. Its worth a try.

km 2/07: Memorial Tract campaign

i am not sure if this has been already brought up but i got a glimpse at the feb 07 kingdom ministry.

the watchtower leaders seem to be convinced that the mechanics of tract campaigns to push numbers are a success.

another one will be started in mid-march to announce the jw memorial.

I visited a church today and there were 4 people who joined the church and 6 that asked to be baptised. Now has that EVER happened in a kingdom hall? I bet not!! ... crazy folks!

i just emailed the dr. phil show with significant aspects of my story--not just the jw stuff but with being a large part of the complicated picture and said i would be willing to air my issues on their show.

the hidden horrors of marital sex abuse and of sleep-rape, specifically, must be exposed to the general public.

too many believe that it's not even possible to rape a sleeping woman...and they are soooo wrong, as my firsthand experience attests!!!

My parents already shun me. I just hate to upset them anymore. They are gong through so much already. It is hard for them but they think they are doing the right thing. The topic I wanted to respond to was something about your parents seperating themselves from you because of some conflict. I do not remember the right words.

I think he avoids this cult because he doesn't want to stir up controversy.
