usually ,i look over at the profile and i can let it slide if the person is from sweden or something and english is a second language.

but too many of the times that is not the case

that's right.....i am so excited.

filthy bought tickets to take me to a concert.......bb king and kenny wayne shepherd today!

it happens to be in an outdoor auditorium and unfortunately it is a little overcast and chilly-but i look at it as more reason to "cuddle" up under a blanket and listen to some great blues music!

Oh yeah? How about he gets HIS butt beat bloody raw, and then try the stun gun on HIM? Bet neither one gets his vote.

One good thing: This happened in Texas. The courts there will probably hammer him. He'll learn a lesson or 2, or 10, in prison.

Should We Be Imitators

wt always claimed that everyone imitates somebody.

they said that they were imitating jehovah, jesus, isaiah, or some other bible character in some ways or another.

they claimed the rest of mankind were imitating their own idols, heros, and ultimately, the devil.

Coincidental similarity of behavior shouldn't be misinterpreted as imitation. The fact that we are all humans, with the characteristic imprints of our respective cultures and envirionment, does NOT, imho, mean that "we are who we are" by the time we are 5 or 6. Our psyche can be as dynamic, or static, as we want it to be. True, there are some (many? most?) people that do remain relatively unchanged, but that is not a necessary and inevitable fact of life.

Personality is defined by behavior, and behavior is stimulated by our belief structure. So, if our beliefs change substantially, then ultimately our personality will also change. Using myself as an example...

1) I used to be totally preoccupied with cerebral pursuits, and have only in the last few months discovered the thrill of my emotional self. As a result, my interests and behavior are changing considerably, and hence also my personality;

2) I used to believe that the Bible was inerrant. In the last few months I have seriously modified my viewpoint on that, and as a result my behavior has changed considerably, hence also my personality.

3) I used to unequivocally honor my parents, in virtually every way. Recently, I have come to see rather clearly how they are living (as dubs) in a make-believe world of denial (like I was). I still have deep respect for them, but have totally rejected that part of their "imprinting" on me...hence my personality has changed.

I still desire input and perspective from other people, but fundamentally, I DO trust myself.

PS: And that last is itself another personality change....up to this point in my life, I HAVEN'T trusted myself.

today is a lazy rainy sunday here.

so i splurged and watched the first 6 episodes of last season's 24. costco had the whole first season on dvd for only $39.99 the other day, so i got it.

that seems to me to be a bargain compared to some of the other shows on sale.

i am a genealogy freak!!

my maiden name was maxfield, and i have found probably, all there is on my line, going back 260 years.. one of the books, written by a distant cousin, telling about his grandfather, has this reference that i had to share.

i had to wonder if he is talking about the old wbbr broadcast.

That ref to the Great Pyramid sorta gives it away, doesn't it?

However, I have a book in my library (God's Plan Through The Ages, C.A. Chader, 1938) first published in Sweden in 1934, that is virtually a carbon copy of Russell's chronology (colored spread chart and all). Swedenborg's "Revelation series" also comes to mind.

Perhaps there were other groups who promulgated and broadcast similar theologies?

LOL.....I love Star Trek so bad that I watch reruns of the old series (I've watched them dozens of times) and mouth the words of the actors! Hate Janeway, though...too much like an elder (if she was male, that is ).

TNG is the BEST!!
