  Why not send a commando, or whatever you call these special fighters, that would find Saddam Hussein and his closest followers and generals and take them out, kill them if they must, or take them out of the country.

  Your heart is in the right place, child of peace.

  Unfortunately, this isn't a plausible solution. Contrary to Hollywood style perceptions, this type of operation is very difficult to do, especially when Saddam Hussien and his buddies are well aware of this type of action. You have to get the special forces in, locate the objective, and neautralize and then get out. With the entire nation of Iraq on alert, and the difficulty with tracking Saddam's movements...the operation would be a greater risk for those involved, then achieving the potential outcome.

  You must also take in to account, that it just doesn't stop with Saddam. You have to locate supporters...the next in line to take the reigns of power.

  With ground troops, you can secure the country, and keep the opposition localized and contained when you reach your final objective. The unfortunate outcome in all this, is the civilian casualties that are involved.

  they will start posting, and already, i see people beginning to hop on their ass (e-mail and business shipments and civic projects).

  now, when this starts happening...and it comes to those people being cruel to such posters...i will unleash a holy hell of "i told you so, go cry somewhere else" when it finally comes round to such airheads and nitwits (or their families) who harass such posters.. there are going to be some suprising situations that are going to be posted by joe & jane q. of this board, and they will need your support.

  while you watch your britney spears videos...your freedom is being taken away.. while you cheer for your nba team and drink that beer...your freedom is being taken away.. while you watch cnn/msnbc/foxnews reports about laci peterson and shuttle disasters....your freedom is being taken away.. while you see one of the greatest misdirections about "condition orange" blinking on your sets....your freedom is being taken away.. while you hoot-n-holler for going to war with saddam hussien...your freedom is being taken away.. while you turn on your computer to surf the internet...your freedom is being taken away.. while you worry about what sports car to buy...your freedom is being taken away.. while you sit in your home with the heat on, enjoying 3 sqaures a day...your freedom is being taken away.. while you worry about your next job promotion...your freedom is being taken away.. while you are being suckered by the greatest sham from the u.s. government...your freedom is being taken away.. it's amazing, that very few here realize what the patriot act and dept.

  of homeland defense represents....and what is now in place.

  how is it the FBI has missed this board and it's anti-American, anti-Bush leanings?

  Have they? Remember when I said, "give it time, in a few weeks a poster will sharing their story" about this?

  I'm setting the board up, so when people start coming here to share their experiences my friend, that we don't scoff it off. It can roll in your direction one day, and when it does....what are you going to do? Who will you talk to when you need information or resources? Maybe just a shoulder or ear to hear you? What if it's indirect, maybe a relative...your children? What then?

  Dakota, I have many contacts in my life. This board is but a "fraction" as to people I walk with. I'm getting e-mails from people in America about their University being targeted, Their Civil Projects being investigated, a whole range of stuff that is blowing my mind. I too, was a person who thought "naw, never will happen". It's beginning to happen. This is just a few raindrops before the storm.

  I just hope, that when such incidents affect people's lives on this board, that the rest do not give them a hard time. The world is changing, and we will need what support we can get...even if this is just an internet posting forum.

  There are going to be some suprising situations that are going to be posted by Joe & Jane Q. of this board, and they will need your support. Because when it comes to affect you, directly or indirectly, and you were one of those who scoffed and were cruel...you won't get any support from my end. When you need to know the organizations and people that are working hard to keep those from harrassing you or your family, or need some vital information...You get to go find it yourself.

  This is a very arrogant post, and I recognize it. But don't burn a bridge, that can help you in the future. I'm not going to "lead", but I will aid and assist.

  People on this and other boards are going to experience some very "new" problems. They will wonder what is going on, and you will need to help each other.

  I've given up my flaming and non-sense posts if you've noticed of late. I'm not for any dismantling for any government or such. I do recognize that there is going to be some hard times hitting the U.S. and other places in the world, and this may prove to be a sanctuary for those who wish to express their upcoming hardships. When they do, use caution before jumping on them, because when it finally rolls around to you....don't bitch and moan when people turn a deaf ear to your plight.

  I'm sorry can you prove or disrpove this statement? Oh, I see, you don't know all the facts except what FOXNews and CNN have been giving you...what were we thinking?

  What ever happened to: "Innocent until proven guilty" in that country???

  If they do indeed find the husband as the one responsible, then hell yah, he gets what justice of the court system gives him.

  Untill then, who really knows with the limited information being given to the public.

  And I'm sorry, it's bad that Laci Peterson is "missing"...but what gives this case such special attention as to anybody else in the world? And why is it being plastered all over U.S. News Media, while there are greater and far more important issues devolping in the world today?

  ACLU Asks Court to Order Government to Immediately Account for its Use of Vast New Surveillance Powers

  NEW YORK-- The American Civil Liberties Union today asked a federal court to order the Department of Justice to respond immediately to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit seeking information on the government's use of extraordinary new surveillance powers granted to it by Congress last year.

  "As the Justice Department has conceded, there is widespread public concern about the scope of the new surveillance powers and the possibility that the government is abusing them," said Jameel Jaffer, an attorney with the ACLUs Technology and Liberty Program.

  "The records we have identified would enable the public to judge for itself whether these new surveillance powers are necessary and whether they are being used as they should be," he added.

  The ACLU sought the court order today after more than two weeks of negotiations with Justice Department lawyers failed to secure the governments cooperation with the legal request.

  In legal papers filed today in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the ACLU asked Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle to order the Justice Department to disclose within seven days what relevant records its possesses and to release those records within 20 days. The ACLU also asked the court to schedule oral arguments as quickly as possible.

  The records requested concern the government's implementation of the USA PATRIOT Act, legislation that was passed in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks. By amending laws such as the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), USA PATRIOT vastly expands the governments authority to obtain personal information about those living in the United States, including United States citizens.

  In a letter to the ACLU dated Sept. 3, the Justice Department agreed to respond to the FOIA request speedily, acknowledging that the request concerned "a matter of widespread and exceptional media interest in which there exist possible questions about the governments integrity which affect public confidence."

  The ACLU and the Electronic Privacy Information Center filed the lawsuit on October 24 as attorneys for their organizations and for the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression and the Freedom to Read Foundation, citing concerns that the new surveillance laws threaten the First Amendment-protected activities of librarians, library patrons, booksellers and their customers, and investigative journalists.

  The Freedom of Information Act request, which was filed on August 21, seeks general information about the use of new surveillance powers, including the number of times the government has:

  • Directed a library, bookstore or newspaper to produce "tangible things," e.g, the titles of books an individual has purchased or borrowed or the identity of individuals who have purchased or borrowed certain books;
  • Initiated surveillance of Americans under the expanded Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act;
  • Conducted "sneak and peek" searches, which allow law enforcement to enter people's homes and search their belongings without informing them until long after;
  • Authorized the use of devices to trace the telephone calls or e-mails of people who are not suspected of any crime;
  • Investigated American citizens or permanent legal residents on the basis of activities protected by the First Amendment (e.g., writing a letter to the editor or attending a rally).

  David Sobel, General Counsel to the Electronic Privacy Information Center, emphasized that the FOIA request does not seek any information whose disclosure could compromise national security. "We are asking only for aggregate statistical data and other policy-level information," he said. "The release of this information would not jeopardize ongoing investigations or undermine the governments ability to respond to new threats."

  In related litigation , the ACLU and other groups filed a friend-of-the-court brief in September urging a secret FISA appeals court to reject the Justice Departments radical bid for broadly expanded powers to spy on U.S. citizens. A decision from the FISA Court of Review is expected imminently.

  The attorneys in the case are Jaffer and Ann Beeson of the national ACLUs Technology and Liberty Program, Sobel of the Electronic Privacy Information Center and Arthur B. Spitzer of the ACLU of the National Capital Area.

  Do you not know, the inherint dangers of this Patriot Act? That say, a Democrat gets in to office in the next election? Wow...now they have some nice power don't they? Inherited by what Bush enacted? Are you thinking now? Are you thinking about the reprecussions in the future in another party's hands? Think Bush and the GOP will be in office forever?

  For EVERYBODY:

  Break the bonds of extremism. THINK for yourselves. Let YOUR voice be heard. Remove the ring in your nose, that is being tugged by those who hold the chain. Taste life, Eat life, Digest life. Look to the past, concern for the future. Stop to see where you are now, and where your children...or their children may be tomorrow.

  Don't hop from the WTBTS trap in to another form of thought control. EXPLOIT the freedom in which you have found. Don't ever compromise on freedom and/or rights. Don't be a slave.

  These words that I have typed in this post, are not to initiate any form of anarchy...it's to prevent it.

  There are "evils", there are people in this world that do pose a threat to humanity, watch your footsteps...watch those who are in public service footsteps...that you may not become one of them.
