What made you lose your joy in serving Jehovah?
by JH inwe all started off as happy witnesses, except for those dragged into this religion by force as kids.. in my case, i found that there were way too many meetings.
then seeing the new system being constantly pushed back, and finally when i saw a lack of true love in the congregation.
and when they hinted that probably there wouldn't be any sex and marriage for the resurrected ones.

When i see backstabbing, people just hypocrites in this perfect religion, when i wanted to be an unbaptized publisher but got knocked back because people told lies to the elders, when i begged Jehovah for help so my stepdad would leave me alone and stop bullying and he never helped and i see how my mum is controlled so heavily, she's been ill on and off ever since her marriage yet its Jehovah that married them in the Kingdom Hall, a guy stole money from work yet was disfellowshipped instead and the police never were involved...the list is endless, its corrupt nonsense.
I didn't lose my joy in serving him, i woke up and realised Jehovah of Jehovah's witnesses doesn't exist.

my letter to my dad. what do you think?
by freedomlover inhey you all.
well finally got the courage to put this all down on paper for my dad.
if you want to read it and give me any feedback i'd truly appreciate it.

You are doing a brave thing, i like how you researched this WANTING to find the WBT society as reliable and honest and as God's organization. You are being honest with yourself and not hiding, and that is hard.
i hope your dad responds how you want and need him too, good luck and i think since your so sensible, you will land on your feet in the end.

Which Church do I go to now?
by jwfacts ini personally feel no particular need for institutionalised religion, but recognise it is a benefit to many people.
however i am constantly asked, "where do i go to now?
what is the best answer to give someone?
-
KW13
Well i am now Church of England BUT i am in it because i chose it, i am not regular there and i am learning things again.
I would say not to rush for a structured religion, but see what comes the persons way.

Will we ever fit in?
by montana96 inthis has probably by far the hardest adjustment my husband and myself have had to make.
sometimes we feel like we just dont really belong anywhere.
sometimes we still act and think like jw s even though we are getting together a nice network of new friends.. my question is, does it get easier with time to feel like you belong somewhere?.

You suddenly find yourself without structure to your timetable, somedays you feel good, sometimes bad.
It passes, and you realise you fit in for being you, with friends, peers, family or whatever.
I wish you all the best!

I asked and down came the wall
by KW13 inmy aunt is a lesbian.
i am no longer a witness but i wanted to see how bulletproof jw beliefs are.. so jehovah is against homosexuals and they will be destroyed at armaggedon but with his power homosexuals can go to meetings and stop sinning, was my mums explanation....erm.... people with a different genetic make-up who can't help being what they are will be able to stop these feelings before the new order, in that case its a miracle, jehovah doesn't do miracles right now....that's something alright.
ok now how on earth are they supposed to cut off physical emotions?

What do you think of yourself now?
by MsMcDucket inas a dub, we had to suppress all of our inner feelings, desires, self-image, and what not.
now, that you're out, what was the first thing that you did (that you would of gotten a *smack down* for as a witness)?.
you don't have to tell all of the details.
