I guess it's not too soon. Thousands, if not millions, have waited a very long time for this day.

A woman of vision, not one I shared.....
Like her or hate her she was an iconic figure.
Thatcher's place in history is assured for a whole variety of reasons -

She did some good for the country but also did some bad as well.

Just noticing - all could likewise be said of Adolf Hitler.

Her dementia, like St. Ronnie's, clearly started earlier than previously thought.
During the "awfully bad Labour administration" that ended with the election of Thatcher in 1979, unemployment was at 5.4%. By Nov 1983 her regime had moved the 'official' rate to 11.8%.

And that 11.8% was a heavily massaged figure. In some areas of the country particularly badly hit by her cuts, those unemployed reached over 50% of the working-age population.

Had a soft spot for the old dame ever since she snubbed Sarah Palin: "Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin. That would be belittling for Margaret. Sarah Palin is nuts."

There will always be people who want to be lazy and mooch of of others.
And apparently there will always be people so eaten up by this fact that they cannot get past it (like a speed bump) to the bigger picture, compounding the problem into a much bigger one.

years ago, i didn't care for roger ebert.

i thought he was kind of a snooty film critic.. after watching films as sort of a hobby, i came to really appreciate his opinions on film.

mainly, what was the film trying to do.

In recent years his essays were gold. A real writing talent. When I heard the news today I was really shook. What a loss.

Also, throw some tofu in the blender with your smoothie. Doesn't change the flavor, adds protein.

Yes. This is better than scrambled eggs:
Saute a couple of tablespoons each of chopped onion, green pasilla chile, red bell pepper and oil in a skillet. Break up half of a 12 ounce tub of medium-firm tofu and add to the skillet mixture. Add salt and pepper, a 1/2 tsp. each of turmeric and paprika. Saute all together for a few minutes, browning some of the onion and the tofu. Serves one.
Quite tasty and quite a beautfiul dish.
