Please help! I have NO idea what to do with this!

at work we are supposed to setup "goals" for a "performance review" later in the year.

i *hate* things like this because i don't understand what i'm supposed to put in the document.

it is far too subjective with no defined requirements that i can wrap my brain around.

Measurable=quantifiable. Put a number value on it. "Increase XYZ by 25%." "Decrease ABC by 10%." Arrowstar is on it!

this issue came up with my jw nephew(17).

i jumped at the chance at using it to prove that the org is a fraud but then the focus changed slightly.

i said, "do you know how many people's lives were disrupted by this event.

They got what they deserved - they aligned themselves with an authoritarian, manipulative, deceitful organization and each turned his or her own free will over to it. The WTS organization cultivates the mindset that responds to reward/punishment conditioning - that is why they keep score - FS hours, status, etc. - and are obsessed with dates. But the R & F are culpable for buying in to it.

But what about the culpability of the WTS? I would not want their karma.

Counseled by Circuit and Congregation Overseers for not wanting to marry the nice brother I had been dating ..............they came to see me (primarily, though, for not attending enough meetings)....

the way the jw religion markets itself often intrigues me.

needless to say one of the most powerful marketing tools, the internet, is giving more hindrance than help to the wts.. i'm suprised that the organisation still sticks with the basic door to door sales approach, which more often than not irritates people, and that they push their message primarily with rather crude magazines.

i'm sure the magazines have to be basic and cheap to maintain profit margins, but in a more sophisticated media dominated world do they really think that cheesy drawings of people cuddling tigers in front of waterfalls is a good sell?

i was in the grocery store and met a cousin i haven't seen in years.

the first thing he asked me was, do you go to the meeting now?

he mentioned how armageddon was so close.

PMJ: You seem very conflicted - you obviously have huge doubts about the WTS having the 'truth' - so you provoke discussions that give you the opportunity to defend it, in order to alleviate your guilt about being a doubter. That works as long as you are on this site, but what about when you wake up in the middle of the night - with those doubts - alone in your own head? It must be pure misery.

PMJ: I am speaking to you out of compassion, not criticism.

Most of us here have been in your place – in the organization, but seriously doubting that it really is the truth. As the years go by the doubts don’t go away. It can be absolute HELL. Haven’t you read some of the heartbreaking stories on here of families torn apart, lives ruined, cruel and unloving treatment from witnesses, even lives lost? This is serious – you are a young man with a new family and therefore tremendous responsibilities besides this burden.

Your pain is obvious and my heart goes out to you – I have grown sons about your age.

You are not being attacked - we are reaching out to a kindred soul who is so clearly struggling.

Certainly. If physical abuse harms the body - what the WTS does harms the spirit and interferes with one's spiritual journey.

Those with children, do you want your children to be sexually active?

i know that we all felt the witnesses were to over the top on their restriction on sex, but do we want our children to be sexually active the way we wanted to be?

for example, should they have sex in high school with their girl/boy friends?

should they not be committed to anyway, and just have sex with whoever feels good at the moment, or better yet, who ever is willing?
