  here's more.

  he's made it approx. 800 kms west of Calgary, Alberta (that's 500 miles). the path he's biking through is very mountainous (as it is the Rockies). to give you an idea of his terrain, he's had to bike over passes with elevations of 1770 meters (that's 6000 feet) - that one was the Creston/Salmo pass and it took him 6 hours to get to the summit. you should see his freakin' legs!

  he stopped in one town for this awesome Reggae fest called Koots Roots. Hippies and rastas by the thousands and many "extracurricular" activities. i met up with him shortly after the fest. sorry i didn't take pictures.

  right now, he's in a small town (Keremeos, BC) picking apples for a fews days. he's doing great and crossing paths with so many interesting people.

  i should be hearing from him tonight. i'll pass on the messages you've offered.

  Who Pioneered?

  my two sisters did the right thing, pioneering straight out of school, janitoring to pay for the petrol (one didn't even bother with her final year of school).

  it was this kind of fine example that got me guilt-tripped into auxiliary pioneering just after getting baptised at age 20. i only lasted six months; i took a holiday in queensland and returned not knowing much more about life but at least that it's bigger than my little congregation.

  i despised the field service, i dreaded the daily schedule and every morning i was on my way out there was this awful countdown from the alarm going off to the first door opening, knowing that it's just a big setup to another depressing humiliation.

  a friend of mine gave a talk at a circuit assembly. it "moved" me.

  so the following day i drove over to some elders house and gave him my application.

  all the while, i was smoking pot while pioneering...

  i finally quit when i realized i couldn't reconcile the 2.

  quit right before the pioneer school. and when they asked why. i told them i smoked - so i got reproved.

  i went & visited my mother in february & shared with her some of the research i had found.

  hi lusciousJ,

  remember, this isn't your mother but an organization putting words in her mouth. she was told to put on this "new personality" a long time ago. her words are the sentiments of a mind-controlling organization, not her own. she's demonstrated how she's really felt for you since you saw her back in february. someone in the org. has probably just assailed her with guilt and that's what made her say what she did.

  give her time.

  and remember you have mothers here that will love you as their own daughter. you have men and women that will love you as their own siblings...
