welcome wineskin...
so, i take it, you're not going to the memorial?
or will you play out the fantasy: drop the bread on the floor by "mistake" and drink the wine.
oooooh, so bad....
(wink)

I too, need guidance
by Wineskin Cowboy ini am a newb here and have spent some time considering the effect on impressionable minds of the bizarre cult that is the jay dub "religion".
mind you, i could be said to have a flea in my ear.. strange coincidence that i should not only be in the same state( geographically, not mind) and city as the esteemed duality known as dr jekyll, but living a mere 4 houses away from a kingdom hall actually "quick built" by my deeply disturbed ex father in law and his young pioneer daughter whom i was silly enough to marry.. i believe that it is one of life's great ironies that the joyless f**ks come out to play on memorial night when there is always a full moon.
i have always been tempted to eat the effing wafers and howl my annointedness at it.. and don't get me started on the whole "translation from original greek and aramaic texts" thing done by a committee of elders who spoke neither greek nor aramaic.. more later..

if it weren't for russel branching out of his prior belief system,
we'd all be adventists.
what is truth?

Living in a divided home
by 24k inlet me start off by saying that i love my wife dearly.
she is, and has always been my best friend.
she is a devoted wife and a wonderful mother.

patience is key.
we'd love to be able to say most JWs get married because out of a combination of love, respect and spiritual goals. but sadly, most JW marriages are based solely on spiritual goals and libido. so after 2 years, when the libido is gone (or dopamine for scientifically inclined) and one party leaves the "spiritual haven" not much else is left.
if you are among the lucky ones where there was an abundance of love and respect in that initial union, then patience is key. with time, your divided home will have that same love and respect, sans the spiritual requirements you initially had.
hope that makes sense.

Quick survey for apostates - please everyone just yes or no answer
by slimboyfat indo the other witnesses with whom you associate/once associated in general know that you are an apostate or have apostate inclinations?
the reason for the phrase "in general" is that it may be the case that one or two close friends know how you feel, but others in general do not.
in my own case, one other witness knows, but no one else, so i would answer the survey question with a "no".

oops, sorry i took off before seeing your reply...
so you ask, am i going? i haven't decided yet. i'm having a real hard time lying to my parents about not going to meetings, so i think i may need to make a physical appearance at the memorial so that my mind can be at peace when i simply say:
"yes mom, i went and you'd be so proud... i didn't spill the wine".
actually, on second thought, wouldn't it be fun to spill the wine... by mistake... "oops"...
