WHO WILL PRESIDE OVER YOUR MEMORIAL SERVICE
by buffalosrfree inthis was a questions my wife asked me this morning, when i told her for the umpthteenth time that i won't attend the meeting today, not today, not the memorial or grape drinking or any other time.
i asked her why she was worried about that and she had no clear answer, i told her as i will be dead i could give a s**t less.
that any service would be for her and kids and family and non wtbts friends.

Personally, I don't want anything Watchtower related with my Memorial Service, whenever that occurs. As a veteran, I am entitled to have a free American Flag placed over the casket and both of my daughters, nonJWs, wish for that to take place. The American Legion, DAV, and even VFW will perform any graveside services.
I sincerely doubt the dub wife and I will be together then, so I have assigned any and all plans to my daughters and their husbands.

I do see a double standard in practice. Why? I knew an elder, one, if not the only, decent one I encountered. He lost his job and the new one he found had him on occassion, deliver cigarettes. Others elders tried to goad him into Pioneering, now that he didn't have a full time job. Never mind he had a wife with medical problems and didn't have any monetary support, other than his working.
It seemed that another elder's conscience was bothered because of his delivering cigarettes and he was asked to step-down from the elder position because of it. One of the same ones who decided he should now Pioneer, as it were.
So, Brother X was no longer an elder, all because he wasn't responsible for someone elses choice. Oh yes, the elder that was so bothered? He worked for Blitz Weinhardt Brewery and not only drove the company van to meetings, but parked it out front every Sunday.
More good old JW "selective conscience?"

there are so many points in it i feel that i should make more than one thread.. in this thread i will deal with the issue of marriage discussed from paragraph 13 onwards.
paragraph 15 warns against marrying an unbeliever and confirms the societys view that only jehovahs witnesses will survive armageddon, so why bother marrying someone who will die soon?.

Don't forget, since Sept 11, we are showing what may turn into another major war. Wars and Watchtower prophecy of gloom and doom seem to fit hand in hand. They can use it to "speculate" that Jehovah is bearing down on the earth at this minute and sucker more people into their confines.
Of course, they will remian "neutral," while lauding and condemning both sides, as the need fits their cultic purpose.
I only wish more would see through the rosey colored glasses the Watchtower puts on them with this article. I mentioned this article this morning to the wife and both her and her youngest daughter informed me that I was obvioulsy misreading the quotes (They haven't received thier copies just yet).
Amazing how uptight they get when you try to show the hypocrisy contained within their own literature. They will condemn all other relgions and when pointed out that the dubs are exactly the same way, excuse it as human imperfection.
As they left to attend their latest bout of heavy brainwashing, I was told, "maybe one day you will see what you have done." I take that to mean that the wife has condemned me to die soon, at armegeddon. If it ever does come, I think maybe she will realize what she has done.

ashiNo, I DA'd myself after a long period of inactivity. I was trying to just fade away, but some elders decided I was so horrible towards my dub step-family, that they needed to go after my jugular. At any rate, they ended up with egg on their face and I just got so tired of their trying to exercise any type of control on me that I sent in a letter along with copies and references to Watchtower articles and copies of Washington State law on abuse, showing what hypocrites they were.
In my experience, the dubs didn't encourage disciplining children, but vere horrified that the step-kids were disciplined at all. By this, I mean that I wasn't permitted to ground them without some idiot elder, or his elderette wife, interfering. The dub wife would agree with me when we discussed it, but when she went to the KH, would whine to an elder that it was mean of me to not allow her son to attend a ball game after the meeting, with other dubs.
Of course, this is the same wife, who shortly before we married, had an attack of conscience and squealed to the elders that we engaged in petting, to the point of mutual orgasm (if not to that point, why bother?) prior to marriage. Naturally, they formed a JC and in the brillant benevolence, decided to privately reprove us. What I still find ludicrous, is that her conscience didn't bother her enough to also report we engaged in oral sex prior to marriage. Selective conscience, I guess.
As to my lifestyle changing, I would have to say it has changed drastically, at least for right now. I have always been a laid back down to earth person. After Vietnam, I was a real mellow guy, always there for anyone and trusting. Since becoming a JW and especially marrying one, I now have high blood pressure, bitter feelings towards many and am very distrustful of most people. I can see there is no changing anything within this marriage and am just waiting on it to end.
Since I purchased the house we live in last year, I will await her to leave. If what I overhear from her monsters is correct, they should be gone in May.
Let them and the Watchtower have each other. They all deserve it.

The way I see it, I haven't committed any DFing offenses at all. At least, not for a long time. Since I am no longer a dub, how can I committt any offenses?
But, if you wish to know how many beforehand, well, who can really count?

I still had a pistol after becoming a dub, not something well thought of by the few who knew. I grew up around guns and have been involved with them for what seems like forever.
I did sell my last gun, though. Not because of being a dub, but because I couldn't trust my step-brats around it. The boy was just too fascinated with it and wouldn't follow any safe procedures for handling it. So, I got rid of the gun. In retrospect, I should have kept the gun and got rid of the step-family!
