Guy Pierce being on the GB makes me laugh. His very claim of being annointed disproves JW logic and doctrine. A few years back, when I fiost went inactive, he was our CO and stopped by the house. During the "visit," his being annointed came out and the fact that he didn't become a JW until the early 50s. But wait! Don't they teach the number was sealed in the early 30s? Don't they also teach that if one fell out of grace, that there are more than enough faithful ones form before the early 30s to take their place?

Personally, I wouldn't trust a damn tihng that one has to say!

i was once counselled by the elders for watching 'knots landing'....it became widely known in the congregation that me and a few other sisters would rush home from field service to watch our favourite soapie.

if we missed it, we would ring each other up for an update...or...if we weren't near a tv we would ask someone to put the phone handset on the top of their tv so we could hear it...pathetic huh...but that was all the excitement we could scrounge up in our otherwise dull and uneventful lives.

one of the elder's wive's conscience got the better of her...and she confessed to her husband..lol.

Has anyone ever done anything that they praised you for???

The only hint of praise I ever saw or received was for the first talk in the Ministry School. Other than that, I never felt appreciated for anything, even when I repaired an elders Mercedes on the side for $25.

The very first time I got to be a microphone bearer, I was stuck doing it all alone for almost two thirds of the Watchtower Study. I was counselled afterwards as an elder thought I took too long getting to people and had gum in my mouth.

Of course, he couldn't get up off his lazy ass and help.

i'm going to post another thread on this since my last attempt to hijack a thread was utterly in vain.. does anyone have the latest watchtower library cd?

i *think* the year was '99 or '01, but i'm not 100% on that.. if so, would it be possible to put an iso of it on the web somewhere?

(or, if not, at least host it on your computer for a bit such that i could pick it up via icq or gnutella or something?).

my cousin just called me and gave me some distressing news.

it seems that last night my grandma was publicly reproved at the kingdom hall.

my grandma was born is 1900 so she is now well over 100 years old.

Are you kidding? Have you forgot that the real power brokers and law and policy passers are in Congress? The most power a President can have is to entice Congress to pass what he deems necessary.

Had previous administrations done something stronger about terrorism, maybe Dubya would not have had to get into this fight.

As far as economic conditions are concerned, Clinton took over a good economy and it was going in the toilet a year before he left office.

When it comes to Political parties, all are scoundrels and are only interested in getting reelected. They do that by catering to the ones they think will vote for them.

Personally, I am still waiting for Rosie O'Donnell, Barbara Streisand, Alec Baldwin and all the others who said they would leave the country if Dubya got elected, to leave. Maybe the money is just too good for those liberal elites.

If anyone owes anyone an apology, he should apologize to you. He had no call to blow up at you and embarass you, or at least try to, in fronmt of all the others. JWs are supposed to be thick skinned and have a sense of humor. How many have cracked their own JW jokes?

So, do not apologize to that hypocrite. Let him apologize to you, but don't hold your breath waiting the hypocrite to say anytihng.

When someone is brainwashed into believing their very lives depend on an organization, they will believe anything they are told. Do you really see many current dubs speaking out about either the UN thing or even the pedophile scandal?

Hopefully, many will see the light and come out of her before it is too late.
