....raised in it. That life was all that I knew.
jojochan.
someone asked a question in the "what generation are you" thread:.
were you "raised in the truth," or did you "come into the truth?".
i was raised..
....raised in it. That life was all that I knew.

regardless of how you feel about jehovah's organization--the true religion, one thing for sure, you will not escape the almighty jehovah's judgement right along with satan the devil and his destructive organization.
how will you save yourself and those who follow you...?
it's ashame that your energies could not be put to a more positive use.
The bible speaks about individuals like yourself--who would speak against God's people, but You cannot mock Jehovah, whatever you are sowing you will reap....if you don't believe in Jehovah...who do you pray to now? He only listens to those that are busy doing his will, not those that are looking to glorify themselves....you really are following in your fathers' footsteps--Satan, the devil. Your articles have a lot of material, however, you fail to have scriptural backup.....how true can it be....when not one scripture is sighted! ........zzzz
...o rly?

forgive me if i sound rude or this question has been answered elsewhere, as i am a neophyte and discovered your site through google in my religious studies.
from reading the various posts it seems that this site serves nothing more than an iconoclastic purpose.
was your experience as jw's so traumatic that now you can but put forth such effort to daemonize the religion?
For me it served as a place of healing. It feels good knowing that so many others had went through what I had went through or are still going through it. Plus I've met a lot of people here.
I know I would've felt really alone if I did'nt find this place to come to.
Thank God for Google.
jojochan.
ok..well i havent done one of these "life updates" in some time but i just relaized the other day that the only time i post on here is when something bad or something that triggers a bad memory hapens.
i dont think that i want this to be only reason...i have read others on this board trying to celebrate the advancement and happiness of life post df'edness.
life is just that right now-beautiful.
Good that you stood up to that, zanex. At least you got them off your back though.
That's a good thing.

Was your experience as JW's so traumatic that now you can but put forth such effort to daemonize the religion? Why not live and let live? Do not get me wrong. I am not trying to promote the JW's. It just seems that the lot of you are acting like petulant children.
OWW!!........

i met a girl about a year and a half ago and we became really good platonic friends.
she was bright, cute and always put a smile on my face with her lovely sense of humour, just a great girl.
then one day with tears in her eyes she told me she had to leave but wouldn't tell me why.
I thought she wanted to continue where we left off but instead she came to tell me that she is leaving the UK for good and it's a final goodbye. I asked her to keep in touch but I know she won't. She returned a television that I bought for her during our good times but looking at it hurts, it represents a great loss to me but at the same time it's all I've got of her and can't bring myself to throwing it out.
That HAS to hurt...

hello, i discovered this site yesterday and have been on it for hours!
i've been studying with jehovah's witnesses for 4 years and quite frankly love it.
a bit of background, i am a college educated young man (have a bs in psychology) and am currently a medical student.
You say you have a psych background - have you ever studied Lifton's work on thought reform and totalitarianism? JWs fit all eight criteria that Lifton identified in groups who employ unethical forms of thought reform/mind control. Why don't you check it out, and come back to discuss it with us?
Damn...deep. I'll check that one out.

Welcome to the forum!
Now...with that said, MY two cents
To the new convert it DOES seem nice. The idea of a worldwide brotherhood, the esoteric terms that are used and the strict moral codes. It's seems on the outside very nice to those that are looking for a whiff of "fresh" air in their life. Let's face it, we are ALL looking for something, whether it's love, the meaning of life, ect. For some peole it's God; or the concept of him/her. The society gives such a simplistic answer to such questions for those that are hurt, beat down and depressed with this world. And on the outside it LOOKS nice. But is he/she easy to peg?
What interests me is that you've been studying with them for 4 years and not in their eyes "progressed" in making a dedication, which tells me that you are "making sure of all things" which is VERY important for those that don't know how intrusive this religion will be. It involves COMPLETE dedication to the point of saying you are nothing more than a lamb, a slave in their eyes. And that you have to follow a certain qouta that Jesus never put on his fellow lovers of the real truth. They have "rules" that are unkindly yolks to those that have toiled under them for YEARS. Those that were raised in the "truth" can tell you likewise.
If you like to be told what to do be a witness.
If you like to study ONLY from their sources, be a witness.
If you like information spoonfed to you, be a witness.
If you want to escape from the mafia, be a witness.
This is not negative my friend, but a fact. A fact that I know, no but beg you to consider.
Start from the beginning, please...and learn why this religion became apostate from what Russell had started. And please you must read the back issues of their doctrines. And read the Bible in Living english, and then their N.T translation. Read who translated the Living English version. And keep in mind that the society sacntioned it in that time long ago.
Interesting that you must read only their sources, and when the sunday talk is being given, you stick to THEIR outline.
If you like reruns, be a witness.
If you like to be a parrot....be a witness.
I have become drained from their doctrines, and although I'm grateful that I have a set of morals and follow the golden rule, I too am on that road in life in finding out just what IS siprituality.
I hope that you'll come to that conclusion my freind. Whether you'll want to stay with them or not.
You have my respect nontheless.
Thanks for reading, and take care.
jojochan.
Sure if you want to kiss $8 bucks goodbye
At least it's only eight. I spend Ten. Wonder why I hardly go?
