Ha Ha...The Cop Didn't Stop Me!
by Legolas in.
lol...i just dropped lucifer off at work in our industrial park and as i was ramping on the highway (the highway speed on that road is only 70 km an hr) i was going 120 km an hour, that is about 80 miles per hr in the states, anyway i looked in the rearview mirror and a cop was coming up behind me, he pulled up beside me and i gave him a wink and lol...he just kept going!

If you could cheat on your mate...
by Country Girl inand guaranteed not get caught.. would you?.
if it were possible that you could cheat on your mate, or significant other, and not get caught, would you do it?
i've often asked myself that, and asked my husband, too.

No. I was married for five years, and towards the last three years it was hell! She was going out late, I kept finding thongs I would never see her wear, and to top that all off,we were not having sex for that last year and a half. But I was still faithfull. I still loved her and would'nt desrespect the vow I made. Don't get me wrong though, there were temptations but i'd rather leave than to cheat.

How Many Of You?
by justsomedude inhow many of you, when you were an active and zealous jw (assuming you were), were motivated by the paradise idea?
i was basically born in, so i wasn't drawn to the religion, it just was.. the whole idea of the paradise never really exicted me though.
i followed the religion and did what i did because i just believed it was the right thing to do and not so i could obtain the carrot on the end of the string.. how many of you felt the same way?

I too was really into it. But then as time moved on and the older I got, the more things I saw in regards to that whole idea. How dubs were viewing their own baptism as a talisman to make it in . Even I was scared when I was little about that idea. I loved thethought of it though but.. try to explain that idea to a normal person, the WHOLE doctrine of it.Armageddon, the 1000 yrs in paradise, then at the end of that 1000 yrs satan will be let loose for a "little while" (MORE hoop jumping!) Then God will finally destroy satan along with those who follow him, try explaining THAT. I know; I tried on one occasion to a co worker about it. The whole jist of it, when I was done he looked at me like this .

My question of the day...
by DavidChristopher inif jehovah brings a new plan to light, a new idea...does that make him a different god, or the same god with a new plan?
if i start doing things different, does that make me a different person, or the same person with different ways of doing things.. i still have all my past experiences in my memory don't i?
so what i am saying is does becoming "wiser", or growing up, make you someone different?

That's interesting that the society always stressed that God's chariot is always moving forward, in all different directions. Which implied that he changed, at a drop of a dime, which bothered me. But then they add that the "faithful slave" isn't perfect, but IS the mouthpeice of God. None of those that are in inside take note of that; which is in fact scary.

If you knew....
by BlackSwan of Memphis inthat your jw family were lurking here, either to specifically to pinpoint you or just to well, lurk.
would that change the way you post?.
what if you knew for a fact they knew who you were and they were tracking you, would it change the way you post now?.

At this point in my life right now... I don't care. It would at least get it out in the open and done with. I've been gearing up for that moment though, I'm that type of person that has always felt excluded I can entertain myself So it WOULD bother me, but if they love like they said they love me no matter what; then a ' posting I will go.If not then, oh well....

Thank you IC. I was reading some of it just a while ago. That's what I feel now, Like; I know I have an identity. I know I am my own person but, when being told throughout your life that ,"as long as you're one of us; THAT is your identity". It lowered my self worth, I hated being different with no logical explaination from the bible since they picked and chose certain verses to fit them when they pleased. Yeah, I really did have the rug pulled out from underneath me.

Did you ever get any "Bad Advice" from Elders or Ministerial Servants?
by JH in.
i remember once, an elder told me that i could become a full time pioneer.
i was working 40 hours a week, and had a seasonal job 7 months a year.. the way he figured it out, i could work 8 hours during my day, then go to my meetings, and still find 3 or 4 hours to preach that same day...... i told him to go climb a tree.
