the devil himself sends out influence to foster that belief ,if you are not forwarned of an enmy he can quickly defeat you rev12:9;1st peter 5:8 but throughout the scriptures consistantly christians are reminded of the dangerthe next question on the concept of evil there is a scripture that some religions believe according to their dooctrine and not according to the bible that not only is the kingdom in their hearts but also jehovah ,jesus,and holy spririt,not a bible teaching.jesus said to some people the kingdom was in their midst some renderings say within you,of course thats not possible because jesus said that the kingdom is in the heavens and his kingdom is no part of this world.but they took this manmade teaching of the kingdom being ewithin people and took it one step further by removing god from the picture and daying that the concept of good is within us and then took it another step farther and say good and evil coexists in us and there is no god or satan,how convenient then obviously at that point people have no need for religion they are their own gods.people naturally because they are not perfect resist instruction to a certain point and some resist a little more aggressively than others ,you get god out of the way and you are not personally responsible to answer to a god given consciensce you make ethics and morality as you go along ,we can see the dramatic result of that today

here is the first step you asked what is truth,in the bible jesus was quoted during a prayer to his father jehovah your word is truth.so gods word the bible is truth.the next step is at john 17;3,jesus pointed out that in order to have everlasting life we need to take in accurate knowledge of who god is and who jesus is individually and in relation to each other,notice jesus said accurate knowledge,and the only place that we can find accurate knowledge of god an jesus is in the bible,i know you asked what is christianity and maybe was thinking who says what christians should and how to behave and so on......and who really is worshipping god acceptably and it seems that everyone seems to have an opinion on this matter,but whose opinion ,when looking for information about god should we look to,him,his word.i could explain to you all the answers that you requested but that would be like teaching algebra to someone who has not mastered the skills of addition,if this thread is not cancelled i will share more with you if you would like,or you can privately send a message,but there is one thing that is very important to remember,when we wish to worship god acceptably do we go with the status quo or do we look to god for instruction on how to worship him,honestly who has the right to set guidelines for worshipping our creator man or god.if we listened to other men then who would we in actuality be worshipping,i hope this tidbit of info sheds some light and helps you to think about gods point of view and what he requires of us,but also maybe whets your appetite for answers to questions like why does god allow suffering,or a very often asked question what does god think about the plight and sufferring of man,how does he feel?why do so many claim to be christian and say they follow the scriptures but yet teach different beliefs?

he makes a very convincing argument that to me proves the bible verses that make women less human was not in the originals.. paul called women by name some of the women were taking the lead at romans 16: 3-16 in verse 3 say fellow worker prisca (woman).
then verse 7 junias (woman) this is interesting some bibles including the new world translation then says who are men or kinsmen this is not found at all in the older manuscripts so the new world translation and any other translation is in error.

the head covering is to show respect for the headship arrangement,and when no brothers are available it is scriptural for a sister to take the lead in teaching,but when brothers are available it is jehovahs arrangement that the brothers do the teaching not the sisters

by insearchoftruth inmy wife's family is jw, she has never been a partipative jw, but now due to her mom, has been expressing some interest and is starting a 'bible study' using 'what does the bible really teach?
' am looking for any guidance on this book as well as any path i can take to make sure my wife stays away.

well,since most of you are living in the united states,why dont you allow her the right to freedom of religion and allow her to make her own choices ,shes the one that shall have to live with the decision and it is wrong to expect her to live your life instead of her own,those freedoms apply to everyone,not just a select few who choose to make choices for others

youre wrong the reason for the downsizing is to streamline the organization so that we can still print literature,hardcover books are very exp[ensive and one awake issue has been discontinued.as far as layoffs,good try,we are not paid,none of us are the brothers at bethel are volunteers and they only are provided what they need to live ,no slaaries ,no wages.insread of building monstrous structures like the catholic church that the parishoners have to support,the money i and many like me donate is used specifically to support the worldwide witnessing wotk,and our worship of jehovah god,we would be stupid if we were not realistic about how to achieve our goals with a budget in mind,thats like telling your neighbor that because hes trying to be financially responsible his family is going to dissolve
