Hi penny2 Yes I'm better now thanks and up and about, I've placed another via email but hav'nt got a response back yet but a freind is going out house to house with me this week so we will see what happens. It's funny to go back to the houses I used to witness at but I feel it has to be done even if it is only a small contribution. Steve

Beards, when were they banned?

i know it has been talked about before, but does anyone have information as to when jw started banning beards.

my wife is telling me that it started in the 60/70's because of the hippies, but i know i read somewhere on here that it was much earlier.. .

I remember at an assembly here in the eightees ,in a public talk it pointed out bluntly thet some sisters dressed like protitutes and some brothers had grown beards and he condemned them saying that from that time forward that men reaching out for priveleges would fall in line.A MS in my congo had one,very neatly trimmed and chaffed at the prospect that weekend complaining he had skin problems and grew his beard for that reason. Sunday morning it was gone and he was appointed an elder not long after and has never grown it back...what a good brother and how miraculous it was that the rash disappeared ....Ah the blessing from Jehovah ,that is what makes onr rich!

why the wts is selling their assets.

I Agree Lady Lee but finding out the truth would be hard as it would have been decided behind closed doors in muttered tones.

and when people can't reconcile things, eventually they drop out.

If Russell was right and since he died and everything has been corrupted since he died, then the world must ask this question..."What has Jesus been doing for the last 90 years then?" Perhaps he is struggling to ressurect Russell from under that heavy pagan pyramid of his for the past 90 years!

I'm scared and I need help

so, i think next week is when i find out if i am approved to be an ms. if not, thank god, but if i am, i'm in deep crap.

elder dad is confident that i'll accept, but my plan is to try to get out of it by saying that i want to finish school and get an aa degree, at least, before accepting more responsibilities.

It must be hard for you chameleon but look on the brighter side, become an elder and feed sites like this with all the goss and BOE letters you see...it could be fun

I've only managed to place one so far as I'm ill at the moment but the reaction from that person was that she felt physically sick after reading it.I also will place with elders and their neighbours , it's a good idea, how can they fudge over this?

a long-serving member of the jehovah's witness church has been jailed for sexual offences he committed against two young brothers more than 30 years ago.

rex peterson, now 69, was brought into brisbane district court in a wheelchair for his sentencing yesterday because of multiple debilitating medical conditions.

or life in general can prove to be quite challenging at .

times.. having been a lurker before making the commitment to.

We've got one disadvantage here and that is it's blind technology as we can't see expressions and hear inflections of voice so it's sometimes hard to pick the full understanding of others thoughts ,and then there's the fact we are all from different places and backgrounds. I've felt ignored many times here and wonder if it's my fault but then I consider this and think of how much I've learnt and been encouraged here and I get over it.

I'm with misspeaches, the name is familiar as we lived north of Brisbane for years. I do know of one case a few years ago of one of these scum around the Caboolture congregation who molested many boys .One of them tragically committed suicide and I knew a couple of the other boys who just went off the rails. The man killed himself when the police closed in on him but naturally none of the elders warned anyone about him before and certainly did'nt want anyone to know about the affair afterwards.
