  Jehovahs or Yawehs name ,JW's got it right?

  ok i'll admit i just posted this to get rid of obve topic being stuck on the first page....but while i'm here i have'nt seen an explanation given here for whether the jw's are correct in putting gods name back into the old testament.. i just thought some here could voice their opinions on this for the benefit of new ones reading topics on this site.. as for me ,it does puzzle me as to why all versions of the old testament don't have it in all 6000 odd places ,seems to me people here could be seen as ignoring the hard questions if good reasons are'nt given to oppose the standard jw stand ,if indeed that needs to be done?

  No but I was the subject of a D.O 's talk in part,as he changed the original script to fit it in.

  It happened this way..........I was a MS and an Elder and his wife took exception to my thinking on my children going on schoolcamps.

  Their children were about the same age as mine ,and went to the same school and were in the same classes. Well this was after the School brochure came out and as usual there were the self righteous ones waving it about ,including this Elder and his wife.

  The subject of schoolcamps was brought up in the Elders and MS meetings amongst other things ,and this Elder was trying to lobby support against me in the meetings as I had expressed disagreement with him and his wife over this matter .

  I had pointed out to him that the schoolcamps that were depicted in the brochure were typically American holiday type camps for extended periods of time ,whereas here in Australia the camps the children had here were actually study/camping adventures of perhaps just a weekend. Kids were encouraged to study the ecology or whatever the theme was and parents were invited to go along and assist the teachers. My first wife and I would take turns in going on these camps and really saw the value of this kind of education.

  The teachers were confused though as to why some of the JW parents would let their kids go and even assist,and yet the majority (with fear of the Elder body) would not let their kids go.

  Therein lies the motive for what happened next.....the Circiut Assembly came and while I was attending the cappacinno machine after lunch the DO was giving a talk ,the Elder above came rushing across the lunch room floor and attacked me verbally " see I told you you're wrong,you can't let your children go on school camps!" ,and said this extremely loud and in anger in front of brothers and sisters finishing up cleaning after lunch .

  Now I had been listening on the speakers to the DO and he had just changed in mid-talk the theme of it and proceeded to condemn certain brothers who were in our area letting their children go on camps and how this is from Satan! Well when confronted by the Elder ranting I just calmly expressed the same view I had given him before ,well this made him even madder and he then proceedeed to admit that he was freindly with the DO Franz Hoobler and had told him about me just before the session started.

  What a nasty bit of business him and his wife are ,but I guess I can thank them ,for this was one of the events that led me eventually to question firstly the JW people and how they think ,but mostly the Governing Body that feebly watches as people take their rules and twist them to suit themselves and try to hurt others who are supposed to be their spiritual brothers and sisters.

  I'm shooting for the most petty JW-caused problem/complaint

  ok, here's the deal.

  several years ago my brother-in-law (who is also a reformed jw fader) helped us move back to oklahoma.

  while we were taking apart furniture prior to the move we were using my drill and 75 foot extension cord.

  i've been on the board for quite a while now and was wondering, what do my fellow jwdr's do for work, employment or career?

  me, i'm in probably one of the most hated careers in america right now.

  (not gonna tell you what it is either) but how about you, what do you do to earn a little coin?.

  I came to a disturbing realization today

  this morning, someone mistakenly text my cell phone asking that i send them some money.

  the text was addressed to "paul".

  my wife read the text, and jokingly asked me if i was "pretending to be paul".. i answered her, "paul?

  JWs ATTACKED by PIT BULLS while Out in Service - Orlando News

  i saw this story on the orlando/central florida tv news over the weekend, and further below is their very brief, and barely-informational print article.

  the print article does not mention jws, but the tv news loudly and clearly said several times "jehovah's witnesses going door to door" were attacked by the pit bulls.

  it was two "sisters.

  Thank goodness ,I thought dogs only ever attacked me - bull terrier grabbed me by the hand at a gate once and in rural work an alsation mauled me up a long driveway.

  Just shows they know when someone is bringing bad news to their home!

  so what is it?

  i say mine is english with an admixture of german (before the nazis ever existed, no need to go on about that) northern french and italian from venice.

  i look northern european and feel close to that part of the world with family tradition being roman catholic.

  REALLY Think about it before you post

  there is a lot of threads going back and forth both ways, almost like a battle line has been drawn between believers and atheists.

  however, let's just say for the sake of argument, that all religions including the witnesses, are wrong but the bible in itself is right.. everything that it has foretold is going to happen and just as god told noah, in 7 more days i am going to make it rain, but this time he now speaks to all of us and says in just 7 more days i will wipe the earth clean of all those who have or are revolting/disagree against me.. how would you react then?

  No, but seriously I'd question Gods integrity for leaving it to the last minute to tell the 6 billion what he is and what he's gonna do ,and then expect them all to do two watchtower study books before their baptised.
