YOU "THINK" YOU KNOW.....BUT...YOU DON'T KNOW!!
by Terry inthe door to door work is a sham.. the central activity of the watchtower bible and tract society is not spreading their so-called "messege" about the kingdom of jehovah established in the heavens in 1914. that's a load of propaganda.. the door to door activity is feckless in producing converts.
in fact, it is an immense failure of mammoth proportions!.
but, it is a diversion.

Article on Origins of Xristianity I Wrote REALLY UPSET Local Christians
by Seeker4 ini had an assignment to write a bunch of holiday articles that would be shared by all the various papers owned by the guy who owns the paper i'm the editor of.
after i'd had enough with the usual holiday stuff, i decided to get a little adventerous and expanded one in the series to include, not just the origins of christmas foods, but also some ideas i've been reading and watching about the origins of the chrisitain religion itself.. this is a link to the article, which ran a few weeks ago: .

"I've seen how emotional this issue is in discussions on this board, but I have to say that the level of anger it creates when someone questions fundamentalist beliefs is more than a little scary. I can understand why people like Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins keep their locations under wraps!
S4"
This reminded me of a fanatic years ago when I was witnessing with a young girl from door to door, we noticed a house was a do not call as we just started up the driveway, and before we could turn around this minister holding a large wooden cross held it in front of him and screamed at us we were the spawn of Satan and even continued this tirade when we went to the house next door! What a looney ,the poor girl was terrified.

Anyone thought of this?
by wozadummy inwhen one of the 144k dies they are spoken of , especially in jw literature ,as having finished their earthly course.
why don't they say they've gone to heaven?
could it be that they don't want to commit to saying this in case it is later found that the person has committed a serious sin they did'nt confess to while alive?

Thanks for the comment Terry
For many years I could'nt understand why the number never decreased ,and I guess that was one of those things I filed away for a rethink later when questioning everything they teach. It's amazing how the way and what they teach seems so plausible , for a while, then when you run the numbers it all crashes, and I guess what keeps the bullshit all together is the language they use as I stated in my first post.

Why don't they say they've gone to heaven? Could it be that they don't want to commit to saying this in case it is later found that the person has committed a serious sin they did'nt confess to while alive? Does this show how little confidence and suspicion they have of each other ,or have they concluded that it would be prudent to say it this way after consulting the WTS lawyers?

When is a fade finished?
by Nellie inso i was thinking - if i don't da myself and they don't df me, am i doomed forever to this limbo called "fade?
" when do i stop worrying about "what if they find out?
" when will they (if they saw me) just think of me as someone they knew, rather than "one of their flock" - even when they know i'm inactive?

I pretty much agree with Ozzie , I just stopped going after expressing my opinions at the book study and privately to the elders on some things and now I'm feeling a sense of peace and less anger, and they don't bother to look me up since my wife DA'd.
Everyones circumstance must be different for we are individuals and some are surrounded by different family members still in, so making judgements on what to do is now put back on us since leaving , unlike when still a JW and not making our own decisions( but just checking what the WTS says) and following their advised course on things.
For instance it might be beneficial to consider finishing a fade by DAing ,for a person might consider it a good move to have the DA announced at the hall if it may affect the people there by wondering why you would leave, especially if you were popular and everyone then started to query why .This happened to my wife ,they could'nt understand why she DA'd and then the Pioneer sister told the congo members she left because of her elder father molesting her for years and the WTS took no action against him (this of course brought the wrath of the elders against the sister for blabbing). My wife had good reason to fade quickly ,then DA and it affected the congo ,to what extent we'll have to see. As for me, I resent at the moment going out of my way to go to the elders and DA ,as if they still meant something to me but that could change one day, in the mean time I can have access to JW's to sow seeds of doubt which I don't think I could iff I DA'd.

Interesting visit from broken down JW and CO
by hambeak inyesterday pm while on gabbly two jw's came into my shop (former customers) with an overheating problem.. they saw my other copy of coc.

Jeez I can see this story becoming a theocratic myth story now at the KH
It might go something like this...........
While in the field service ,all day, we had trouble with the car and the CO said pull into this auto repair shop
We sought out the mechanics help and he told us it would cost alot of money to repair ,we pleaded with him to assist us as we only had so much money....but he refused to lower his price.
What were we to do, maybe prayer to Jehovah would help get us to the Kingdom Hall so the Circuit brother could encourage the brothers there
Ah but just then one of the brothers noticed evil apostate literature on the mechanics counter
Yes the Circuit Overseer said we must leave here ,this literature is a sign from Jah that we must seek out another mechanic ,and perhaps we will get a discount and get to the meeting on time.......and of course we did praise Jah you people
And the carpets of the KH are soaked............
Hambeak you were the only one involved who acted in a proper business like manner!

Hope for uz apostates
by wozadummy insince the wts speaks so beamingly about ,and quotes never endingly solomons writings, we should consider it possible that ,since solomon died apparently as an apostate that perhaps ray franz and we too may get everlasting life and he may even be quoted one day.
this would be consistant would'nt it?
what say ye?

Thanks for the replies
To me I've always puzzled why JW's never seem to question the WTS about Solomons infidilities as they focus on his writings instead and don't want to seem to dwell on the awkward questions like whether he will be ressurected and then, does this lead to direction from the bible as to whether DF'd people of our age will be treated the same as Solomon if they die before Armaggedon?.
That's why I raised this as they are'nt consistant....they glorify Solomon seeming to ignore his end and yet , someone like Ray Franz for instance who was also prominent in their history is ignored totally as if dead and yet he contributed so much to them.
Amongst witnesses there is confusion over their own view of the dead as to whether DF'd will be ressurected......it's like we'll have to wait and see. And yet some are vehement that they won't come back, has anyone noticed this?
