misanthropic's puppy pics reminded me of a picture i had of our cat chillin' in a sink.

it's ironic in that she is extremely afraid of water - even little drops that splash on her.

Prince and Lindsay Lohan Partying?

just finished reading an article in the morning newspaper about lindsay lohan cheking herself into the wonderland centre for drug and alchohol rehab.. it is sad to see such a beautiful young person getting to need such services with so much of her life ahead.. but the part of the report that made me sit up and think was this, i quote........ "ms lohan was in hospital on january 3 for appendicitis but was seen out partying a couple of hours after she was discharged.. since, she has been seen out almost every night and on monday she attended prince's post golden-globes bash at the beverley wilshire hotel.

a fellow party goer said she obviously was the worse for wear.".

well i'm spewing over this and here are my questions then....... if prince is a jw what the hell is he doing organising a large function without the elders approval?.

If Prince is a JW what the hell is he doing organising a LARGE function without the elders approval?

What the hell is he doing inviting "worldly" people to a party in honor of a "worldly" event?

What the hell is he doing inviting and providing the facility for Lindsay Lohan to continue her drunken and drug addicted lifestyle?

Why the hell is he not sensitive to other peoples addictive problems and providing a vehicle to continue their addictions.

Would he have invited a liberal quantity of his "spiritual brothers and sisters " to such an event?

Why is there a deafening silence from Bethel and his congregation elders about his conduct?

If this was organised by any other rank and file member would not the WTS come down angrily on them?

If this was a European singing star ,say , would they be treated the same way as Prince.?

I say that the WTS is hypocritical on all points and Prince is a pathetic witness for his god the WTS!

For those of us that have fought addiction or helped ones addicted to get their life back this is an insult from Prince and the WTS who claim to be Christian and look down on all who are not members of this cult!

Thanks for letting me vent.

the thread on the wt going into the red, and the remark on "cheap paperback bibles" made me think of the old green nwt.. there was a lot of buzz back then about why it was green.

i heard these from various cos -.

a) it was green to prove that it was not from christendom.

James I THINK THE GREEN STOPPED ABOUT THE LATE 80'S AND THE BLACK HARD COVER REPLACED IT WHICH IS STILL CIRCULATED i THINK. dO YOU REMEMBER SOME BROTHERS WOULD GO TO A BOOK BINDER AND GET THE kj OR REASONING FROM THE SCRIPTURES PUT TOGETHER WITH THE nwt AND COVER THEM IN ONE VOLUME IN LEATHER........some were just so materialistic

Regarding Genesis 3:15, Tell me what you think

genesis 3:15 states " i shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed.

" " he will bruise you in the head and you will bruise him in the heel.".

i did some meditating on this scripture and came to the realization that this prophecy could have somehow been misinterpreted.

Perhaps when god is speaking he starts off not to the serpent but just to the man and woman and is emphasing their now changed relationship with each other as a result of what they have done ,with satan just witnessing what god just said.

Adam and Eve just heard god prophesy that their children would be at enmity with each other all through history because the harmony of human relationships will fail now as a result of what Adam and Eve have done.

So it's just a simple statement not a prophecy that remains hidden and unexplained till a handful of men in the 20th century say what this scripture means.

Nowhere in the bible does any prophet ,not even Jesus, try to break down this scripture and explain it as applying to his Kingdom with him at the head and then kill satan.

It is only WTS teaching(and maybe others for they have borrowed lots of teachings from other religions) that strains to join this simple scripture and make it more than it is.

Am I wrong here ,have I forgotten a scripture somewhere?

Fluff.....Anyone with a bread machine to share recipe's??

my hubby just found a bread machine, barely used for 7bucks...yee-haw!

the only prob is there are no instruction or recipes with it.

it is a toastmaster model #1194. large capacity with no x-tra place to put the yeast.

I just buy the bulk bags of premixed bread flour with sachets of rising stuff ,and on the pachet it lists different models and their formula weights mmmmmmcan almost smell it baking now

There might be something in that about IVF treatment . I've always understood the JW approach to IVF was negative , for the fertilized eggs are kept frozen till needed to be used ,and then there may be some left over and not needed later and then destroyed, which would be seen as taking a life.

The WTS might be embarresed about this, that the 2 issues of blood and IVF are being shared at the same time ,one positive for their publicity and then IVF which is not a good point to focus on.

Why would you ask a question like that here?

Asking people who have left JW's will not give any answer will it? All of mankind and science cannot and will not find out in our present state ,perhaps only a time machine could give the answer. But where did the time machine come from?

Perhaps acceptance of all things just being here is all that is needed to move ahead?
