Chicago sighting.
by Woodsman ini thought it was interesting that the pilots who saw a hovering craft were dismissed as having seen a strange cloud.. this is remarkably similiar to the bibles phraseology of the israelites seeing jehovah in a "thick cloud" etc.. also these pilots work in the clouds day in and day out.
i think they know the difference between a cloud and an object.

I'm sorry to hear of your abuse . I know what you mean when you say you worried about hurting children because others do it, but that does'nt have to be the case for I felt that too yet raised a family and I'm close to my adult children and my grand children and I'm sure many others have done the same.
It is hard fighting those thoughts so please seek professional help and learn to overcome these feelings for children are people too and they can be so much fun and source of love .

Thanks LadyLee for posting this for it is more common than some think.
Unfortunately I was the victim of incest by my mother and later was raped by a man just before becoming a teenager and that list provided pretty much covers the feeling one can have .It can make one a slave to the past and professional help is available and should be earnestly sought instead of keeping it a secret within.
As to assault in the armed services ,it does happen , when I was in the navy during the Vietnam war the recruit school had the doors removed from the shower cubicles for it was common knowlege not to bend over whilst showering for fear of , usually a group of men would attack and insert their erect penises into the anus of a victim.
Another assault was to be Black or White balled where a combination of spray starch and either black shoe polish or white tennis shoe polish was brushed painfully on the genitals. If caught for black balling it would mean prison for the perps because it can cause sterility.
Also when I was in two men got caught in the next block for a homosexual act by some of the other men and they would, as was the practice, give them love bites or hickies and a beating all over their bodies till they bleed,and all were invited to join in. The 2 guys were discharged from the Navy but the other brutal offenders got off of course.

That's why I'll write that I think you're probably an internally lonely person trying to seek a bit of attention by sitting on the fence thinking you have the moral high ground, but your thoughts would be rejected by the WTS and it's rank and file, and certainly some will reject you here - hope it does'nt get too lonely for you up there on the fence.

Who still fears the big 'A'?
by lfcviking ini have been left for about 18 months now and am trying to get 'unindoctrinated' or 'unbrainwashed' or whatever is the correct term is.
but there still exists in me a considerable fear of 'armaggeddon'.
whether the jw teaching of 'armaggeddon' is true or not i am not sure, but such was their very powerful strong mental indoctrination of this event it has left me with what i think will be a permenant fear for the rest of my days.

Any thought process that deals with death must have some effect on people even after rejecting the whole package of teaching, but I think it affects some more than others.
For example someone I know left and DA'd 16 years ago but still is in daily fear but I left only 18 months ago but only have small problems about Armaggedon occasionly -why?- because I re educated myself on the source of the teaching and gradually built up an armour against these feelings.
It's a bit like cognitive thinking , I look at the potentially damaging thought and reason on that thought whether it is valid - for instance would a loving god kill billions of people that are not neccecarily living bad lives by his standards when they have never heard of him because he sends as a whole preachers to most of the population ,hardly ever ,and to the smaller number of the population all the time? In the bible it describes the cruel and graphic way people are to die en-mass for lack of knowlege ,if this is the real god ,the one the WTS descibes then I don't want to serve this one forever with people who are in line with WTS thinking ,I could'nt think of anything worse.
In this way you can kill off the thought processes than enslave one to fear.

I was born there too ,and I'm sure I've got a castle somewhere like all the other poms that came here too.
My parents said you hav'nt seen green till you've been to the English countryside but I've never been back but it sounds lovely. And the pork pies are supposed to be the best, my father would.nt eat one unless it came in a tin from home!
It's funny how the poms are like New Zealanders living here - they whinge about this place but hardly any go home.

How many well known "cult" religions actually started outside of the USA , perhaps this should be asked instead?
America bases it's freedom on it's constitution which provides a fertile base for free speech in religious matters. Imagine trying to start a new freaky cult in Turkey ,or Greece for instance ,or in the former USSR , even with a large population it was the lack of a constitution like America's that blocked free speech.
And don't forget the Americans are very good at selling things eg McDonalds ,Amway ,Mary Kay etc all very tightly organised selling machines perhaps modelled on the WTS

That Western Australian kid lived ,NOT because Jehovah saved him for sticking to the no blood law ,but because there were competent people handy to torniquet his wound so he did,nt lose all his blood!
