Yep, my folks get quiet when I mention hubby and I are getting our financials situated to be ready for retirement in ten years. Wait, I wasn't supposed to finish high school, and wouldn't need a college education for a career in this old system. Hmmm. Good thing I did land a career and can help them out now, because it's 2009 and they're hungry when the pension check is gone.

anyone visit haunted hotels

Not a hotel, but we went on the ghostwalk in the haunted vaults of Edinburgh...it was creepy, damp and dark, but we didn't experience anything. Several years ago, we stayed at an old hotel in Leadville, Colorado. I found a log in the chest drawer from previous guests, describing what they'd experienced in our room! During the night, hubby snored and slept but I felt cold air and chills. In the morning, he said he hadn't noticed anything, but I swear the room temperature was freezing. I barely slept at all. I don't know what to make of it.

We took a cruise on Loch Ness in autumn '07 after alunch of steak pie and tea at the Clansman but never saw anything resembling Nessie. I'd say it's one of the cruise boats on the water or one of the many speedboats on the lake. I wish it was Nessie, but I don't think it is.

Do/did you like to read Daily Text?
by Albert Einstein ini hated it.
we actually never really did.. once, on vacations, we were with another family, they prepared food on the table for breakfast .... and then nobody could touch it for some 15 minutes, when daddy was reading daily text and asking childish questions ... family members were raising hands and answering .... we all were hungry... watching the food ... and hoping it will soon be over (i dont mean armageddon, i mean daily text...) i felt just like an idiot..... albert.

My parents dragged the dang text along on summer vacations. Every August at the campground, with the babbling stream calling and the mountains and pine forest waiting to be explored, the fried eggs, bacon and ripe fragrant cantaloupe on the picnic table...then out came the dratted stinking Daily Text. It was a must. Couldn't even avoid it on vacation. I sure didn't pay any attention to it, smelling the food and dying to start the day's adventures. How ridiculous that was! What were they thinking?? If I was lucky, oopsy, fortunate, they didn't expect me to comment, cuz I hadn't listened to any of the droning on of the paragraphs.

It has bothered me a lot, so much that I've lost sleep. My husband doesn't really understand.
I have so much in common with Michael Jackson. We're both Virgos, and we were both born in Gary Methodist hospital, Gary indiana, USA in the same year, 1958. We both had issues with our fathers. It turns my stomach to see the kids handed over to go through the same things we did. I hope they're strong and come though OK. I could've ended up like Michael, but thankfully I didn't. I do like a glass of wine, lol, but I never got into drugs to forget. I hate to see the kids repeat it all- why would Michael want them to be raised by his mother, knowing that guaranteed a Witless upbringing?

I had one of those discussions this weekend - Am I getting anywhere?
by BonaFide inlast week during bible highlights, a sister commented on leviticus 19:28 about not having a tattoo.
i also commented, saying that we are not under the law, but the principle should be taken into consideration.. a sister i don't speak with very often called me.
she is in the same congregation as some of my family.

"The Society" and the "Faithful Slave" sounds like something from the SciFi Channel. They are truly hypnotized not to see what a cult this is!

The sick feeling in my stomach before meetings because I dreaded all the smirking, phony people inside the building. After I moved in with room-mates from work into my first place, I truly intended to start attending meetings again. When I got dressed up in my "meeting clothes" meaning, panty hose and a skirt, I passed the Hall twice and had to turn around. I had my turn signal on, but just couldn't make myself pull in the parking lot. In my mind's eye, I saw those hypocritical toothy smiles and I felt queasy. I went on home, what a relief! I've never tried to attend a meeting again, and that was in 1983. My gut says they're not anything to do with God or Christ, or why would I feel such revulsion about going inside?

Granny Grace, you are feisty just like my own granny, but you've had the courage to make a break from the Tower, and she's still in. She's very old now (95) and has no will to leave now tho she's not stupid. Good for you- you've helped so many and shown us life is good when we break free! There's lots more work for you to do so don't go yet!

When I was still living at hme, I got a sinus infection with miserable headaches. A girl from work had innocently stopped by the house to bring me a small Christmas gift. This went over like a lead balloon with my parents, who soon decided my headaches were caused by the "demonized" gift. Oddly, after my doctor appointment and my script for antibiotics cleared up the headaches, they didn't want to talk about the trinket they'd made me throw out. Such superstitious people!

I get aggravated by the severly obese who whirr up behind you in their fatmobiles. I had one motion for me to get out of his way, "Coming through!" He urgently needed to reach for his chips and soda. I can't help thinking they'd be healthier if they got out and walked a bit to the fresh fruit aisle, sigh. However, this is a politically incorrect attitude. I need to accomodate these motorized -oversized as they rush to the ice cream freezer.
