Haha, you bet we did. Even the Post Offices closed for the day today. After they told all the employees to stay home, because work was closed, they changed their minds about 10 A.M. and tried to call people in. Very few answered their phones.

Question for Singles: Tired of hearing the "F" word?
by Elsewhere ini'm very much a home-body, so i don't go out much and meet a lot of people.
in recent months i've been trying to reverse that and meet more people.. so far the pattern is this:.
meet someone.start chatting and talking.notice a distinct chemistry.attempt to move things to the next level.now this is where things get frustrating.

Elsewhere, I told my husband I just wanted to be friends, too. We took a six month training at work, in a group which involved staying in residence hotel sometimes. Often, the group shared dinner together. After the course ended, hubby mentioned that there was no reason we couldn't still have dinner together sometimes, just as friends. I agreed to still have a meal with him, if it was understood we weren't dating. I told him I wasn't looking for anything more. He agreed and said he wasn't, either.
3 months later, he asked me to get married. I said, nah...thanks, but no thanks. I had a good job, and my own home. Didn't need to get married.
He asked me again, same answer...
Third time, I realized I didn't NEED to get married, but I WANTED to!
We celebrated our 6-year anniversary recently.
It's not the end of it all, if she wants to be just friends. That's a nice way to start it, easy, no pressure. Relaxed and growing on each other, or maybe not. Don't stress over the "F" word. Look at hubby and me, he didn't give up, and I'm glad he didn't push it.

Having a hard time with this, what to do, what to do
by nonamegiven infor those who don't know my story (look up past posts, i posted it) here's the cliff's notes.. i was df'd about 10 weeks ago for things other than apostacy.
i plan in being reinstated to keep communication with my family (wife and i were raised in the........tr......tru.........truth) so i am still going to the meetings.. well, for any that don't know my wife had a baby thursday woo-hoo!
anyway, the cong we are in is actually fairly loving and it's quite a shock to me since it's very different from what i have experienced for the last 30+ years.

No offense, but why would your wife allow people to come in your house and treat her husband like that? Doesn't the rudeness bother her at all? I mean, this is her husband !
So they bring food over...where is your pride? For a casserole, which you could no doubt make or buy yourself, you allow these bad-mannered people to traipse around your living room and diss you?
Sorry, I know you want to please your wife and family. But this may just be the beginning of years of misery, even if you fake it back in to
Jehoopla'sthe spirit directed elders' good graces. Have you made Ministerial Servant or elder yet? They'll want that next, and so much more. -

Amazon does have new and used copies; I just ordered a copy for myself! Long overdue, I might add. The new copies are cheaper than some of the used ones too!

HELP! Trying to convince my parents I am going to meetings!
by stillAwitness ina few weeks ago i posted about about how my parents have been asking about wether or not my card has been sent to my "new congregation" since i moved out in july.
up until now, i have been stalling not knowing wether or not i wanted to just come out and say "i have not been going to meetings" or not take any action at all.
well someone left an interesting piece of advice on my thread that i have been contemplating doing.that maybe, perhaps i should just have my card sent to a congregation that isn't anywhere near the actual city i live in.

Minimum age of 27-28 to be appointed an elder...where does it say that in the Bible?? Lots of them are immature goofballs still living with Mommy at that age, while others of 25 or so could be very mature! Guess the Holly Spear-it will decide. Or wait! No, gotta go by the rules. If he ain't 27, it's thumbs down from heaven.

WEBSITE ABOUT ALOT OF JW LAWSUITS!!
by crazyblondeb ini found a website that is full of lawsuits involving jw's!!
talk about sue-happy people!!.
it's very interesting reading!!.

This is fascinating reading! We had an elder at my last Post Office, who demanded to be accomodated for meeting nights and ass-emblies. He would wait till the week of summer convention was already taken, then demand the time off anyway. It really hurt the business when he did this. Sometimes, when we called mandatory overtime, he'd refuse to pitch in because it was meeting night. The other mail carriers really resented him when he pulled this.
He claimed the company had to accomodate him or he could sue, and it appears from reading the cases that he was right.

Who else has had pretty Christmas cards come in the mail already? I've already received some cards from board members on the card exchange list! This is fun! Why did I ever think it was so bad to send and receive beautiful cards? Anyone else starting to see cards in their mailbox yet, and isn't it a nice surprise?
(Thank you, Aude and Sassy! )

Tonight's service meeting
by sspo inwhat a load of crap- 10 min.
asking for more contributions in order to build more kh and reminded everyone not only to give cash but don't forget about leaving something for them in your will.. 25 min.
on the proper use of blood which is also a joke.. the km mentioned you cannot take the four components of blood individually in your body but every component was broken into smaller fractions which is up to you to make a decision to accept or reject.. the common jw does not know their left from their right in making decisions about the dozens of fractions of blood but they will obey blindly and not ask a question because that would be considered apostasy.. .

I vote we take up a collection (donation arrangement) so that Crumpy can fly about the world, raising her top in various Kinkdumb Hell windows! Imagine the jaws dropped and the eyeballs popping as she flutters past, and the elderettes dig their claws into their husbands arms, restraining them from running after Crumpet, International Harlot of Revelation!
