Good article and very good points Jules. I'm hoping to see more 3rd party candidates this year with the senate, congress and governal runs, but it looks like we may still be stuck in our 2 party system for a while. I just wish people in this country would hurry up and get out of their patriotic fog due to the war and see that "W" giving more tax breaks to the rich, ignoring education, and cutting the labor department's budget and not proposing raising the minimum wage that this place is going more and more into recession.

Brother Where Art Thou?
by Smoldering Wick ina quick introduction then on to my 2nd post *smiles*.... general greetings & well wishes.....i'm new to jwd, but not new to xjw/jw chat.
i'm 36 years old (and yes...i'm wearing a bonnet and a pink outfit in my pic) (that means i'm a chick for all you lusty men)i've spent the last 3.5 years online laughing, crying, generally healing from my watchtower divorce.
so now that i've let go of all the spit n venom...i sit here worried that my posts will lack the sarcasm and general wicked tone necessary to keep your interest...maybe i should invest in some semi-nude glamour shots?

Welcome aboard. I fairly new here too, but it's great and addictive. When you leave the organization, you lose alot of family and friends. But meeting folks here somewhat helps fill that void. It does really help...

The recent post on how we felt about apostates when we were dubs made me remember something, which I touched on in the post. When I was 11 my entire damn family visited bethel in Brooklyn. There was a grey-haired older fellow that stayed outside the facility yelling at the top of his lungs. Anyone going in to the headquarters would be a traget of yelling. "Look at these beautiful women, they should be posing in Playboy instead of going door to door!!" he would shout...at my mother and aunt (eeeww). Anyway, the bros said he had been at it for years. Don't even know if he's still at it or if he's even alive. Does anyone out there know who I'm talking about?

OH, blah blah blah. You put much too much emphasis on man-made prophesy. How many leaders in the history of the world had those charactaristcs? Hitler, Lenin, Mao, Mussolini...the list goes on and on. You are paranoid that the world may one day be finally rid of religion, trusting people to use reason and compassion in their life and actions instead of superstition. God forbid!

Honestly I was scared to death of apostates. I remember as a child touring bethel and there was this older fellow that stayed outside the headquarters yelling all kind of funny stuff about the WTS. But my family and I avoided him like the plague. At the time, I was scared; now I think it's funny as hell. I wonder where this dude is now...

Atomic Bomb
by deceit ini often wonder wether there will be a day in my lifetime when i hear-.
'it has been confirmed that a nuclea bomb has been droped on _________ by the ________ , total damage cannot be assesed nor numbers, but the city of _______ is no more......'.
with the way america is acting lately, i have to wonder wether they are medling into other countries affairs too much, and now with this speach that bush made naming countries, asking congress for the highest ever defence budget since the cold war ect ect.. what is the hidden agenda in all of this?

Yeah, what does it matter anyway? Eventually the sun will implode and melt Earth. And by then, our species will be long gone, probably by "W" playing with our "defense shield".

SEX, LIES, DEMONS, & APOSTASY
by You Know inthe issue is as old as eden itself, that being: does god have the right to tell us what to do?
that core question, more than anything else, defines what jehovahs witnesses are about, in that we are outspoken advocates and supporters of jehovahs right as sovereign to require obedience from his creatures.
the flip side of that is, of course, rebellion against god, which is expressed in numerous ways and on all levels of society.

And this budget also includes cuts in labor and worker protection laws. I saw "W" on Fox this morning talking about how it never costs too much to protect our country. Why doesn't he take the same view in protecting our workers? Social Security? Sad, sad. America is just turning into a police state....

If U "Bugged" Bethel: What Would U Hear?
by Mindchild ini'm just curious to know if there would be anything sensational to discover if you somehow managed to listen in on or record a meeting of the "power" elite at bethel or a gb session.. would you just be listening to some senile old men droning on about the bible or do you think it would be something that would be scandalous to the max for your average dub?
i know that c of c talked a bit about the meetings the gb had and for the most part it sounded pretty boring to me.
but i wonder where the really juicy stuff is talked about?
