Which did you prefer? Watchtower or Awake?
by LDH inwhen i was a jw, i really couldn't stomach the watchtowers.
the only articles i would read would be for the family study/watchtower study.
it seemed so archaic and old-people-ish.. i did read the awake from cover to cover almost every time.

i initially have made the mistake of cramming everything into one, two or three posts.

Well, here's my quik response:
1. No, prayer has not helped mankind as a whole from what I can tell.
2. No, I don't celebrate genocide.
3. Not quite sure I agree with the concept of "spiritual being" and such. We are a part of nature with brings with it varying emotions, but I don't really consider that "spirit".
4. I recognize 2 Corinthians and the entire Bible as what it is- a man-made book. You can look at it as God-written or inspired, a book of philosphy and/or history, but to me and many others it mainly reflects the mindset and culture of those times, which wasn't exactly pleasant for women, slaves, etc.
5. Many emotions bind us together; we are social animals. You see it throughout nature.
6. Not quite sure about this one. Many have different definitions on what "spirit" means. Some do use it to the same extent as emotions, but it depnds on who you ask.
Of course, these are all opinions, all subject to change upon evidence. Maybe that's being open-minded, I dunno

I've gotten kind of a new pet peeve- What the hell is the deal with girls walking around with the top of their panties above the pants? Some guys say they like it; and girls say it's because of the low-cut pants so popular right now. But if that's the case, the pants are either getting too low, or the panties cut out all together! I remember in school the only people with their undies above their pants were the ones arriving on the "short schoolbus".

What is God doing?
by Kagloo inthis is a genuine question... i mean no disrespect to anyone...especially to my heavenly father....but i have this gnawing question in my head that just wont go away...... okay... with that out of the way.... let's take the holly and jessica story that hit the headlines in the uk recently...two innocent kids, murdered and left to decompose in a filthy mud trench....;or worse than that, the story about the two people in the usa who have been busted for running an internet child porn site that features pix of children...babies as young as five months... five months!!!!!!
!.....being sexually abused..... if i start to think about what these poor kids went through it drives me mad!
and then if i start to think about what some kids are still going through even as i write..... welli can hardly bear it!.
