Listener, thanks so much. That is very interesting. And right on, gumby, they should be dropping like flies.

Memorial Partaker numbers must stop before Armageddon comes.
by gumby inaccording to statements in the past from the society regarding the time when those in the graves worthy of an earthly resurection will recieve their reward....it seems the idiots didn't think of something that would have made a bit more sense.. in the article below....they state the resurection cannot take place until all those of the annointed class are dead and resurected first......yet they continually printed the numbers of those still left on earth while at the same time....preached the end was anytime now.
kinda dumb ain't it?.

Would anyone have access to the number of memorial partakers over the last twenty years or so, to make an actual numbers comparison? It would be interesting to have actual "line graph" data. I have vague memories of that number being just over 3,000 in the early eighties.Of course my memory is a little fuzzy. But I remember watching for the figure each year (was it reported in the KM or am I remembering that wrong, too?) to see how many of them died since I knew as soon as they were all dead that was it....Hello Armageddon.
Because being paranoid about the end of the world in your formative adolescent years makes for a really fun and exciting childhood.

"The two brothers from GlenBrokeback, couldn't help but feel like they were being shunned." Millions now living obviously have died Please stand for our national anthem These three are the funniest things I've read all night. Thank you for making me spit liquid out of my nose.

Anyone else go home and have a wine and crackers party after the "rejection." My family has done it for years...
Ha! Yes! I remember going to my uncle's house afterwards and someone had stopped at the grocery store on the way home and bought Matzo crackers so we could all see what unleavened bread tasted like. They also bought a big jug of cheap Riunite or some other crap.

How to Stump Your Dub Relative
by MissBehave inright after the 9/11 tragedies i stumped my father because i asked the very simple question "dad, does jehovah love osama bin laden?".
now according to the bible god loves all of us, right?
there was a very long pause, but he answered yes.

That's a great topic for a paper. I'm new here too and your post struck a particularly similar chord with me. . I know from experience that a JW adolescent misses out on learning so many fundamentally important social skills because of the isolation from "the world". Not to mention that we never got to believe in Santa!

I remember hearing stories about people listening to rap or rock music on the radio and then having their room possesed until they stopped and burned their cd's..
Yes, because remember if you play Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" backwards it will subliminally tell you to smoke marijuana and you will become a possessed junkie. I remember being a teenager at a district convention and they "demonstrated this" by first playing the intro and first verse forward (which I thought to myself "I LOVE this song, when I heard the first dun, dun, dun....) then they played it backwards. First of all, I couldn't hear anything close to what they were purporting. And second of all, if they really believed it was a subliminal message, playing it for thousands of teenagers at a DC?? not so smart.

Right after the 9/11 tragedies I stumped my father because I asked the very simple question "Dad, does Jehovah love Osama Bin Laden?". Now according to the bible God loves all of us, right? There was a very long pause, but he answered yes. Had to, right? Because scriptually that is correct. Even though the guy is a nasty piece of work.
They teach that Jehovah hates Christendom, and Jehovah hates evildoers...but then isn't that a paradox because Jehovah loves everyone? So does anyone know how witnesses would respond were they posed with the question "Does Jehovah love the Pope or Pat Robertson or Charles Manson?".

Witness and Food Stamp Scam
by MissBehave inhi everyone, been reading here for a long time and have to say how much i enjoy all of your stories, insight and opinions.
this is my first time posting but i remembered something today that i thought was worth sharing.
when i was a teenager and going to the hall (i successfully faded about seventeen years ago), there was a family who would come to the hall in all their sunday finery (better clothes than we can afford), drove up in their nice luxury vehicle etc.

Thanks for all the warm welcome wishes from all you friendly folks! I have sensed a more loving and kind atmosphere on this board than I ever felt at a chilly Kingdom Hall. And Mary, way to go with turning in Brother Shady! That tickles me.
To answer nicolaou's question, I faded when I was twenty-one after being raised as a witness. Fortunately my family didn't shun me and family relationships and activity continued as normal. I just resigned myself to the fact that the truth was the truth but I couldn't conform and just hoped that at Armageddon Jehovah would see that I really was a good person and had a good heart and not kill me. However a few years ago I started really questioning what I had been taught and examining how I really felt about it. And I truly believed I had been brainwashed and it was all propaganda. After I really did some research (alot of which I've learned from you wonderful folks) I was flabbergasted at what I discovered. Now I think I'm at that stage where I feel that my childhood and formative years were wasted being spent in a cult.
I really wish Sister Food Stamps would come to my door one day. That would be a hoot!
